Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

This could be anything....in a way similar to the Millwall game a couple of years ago; lets play the likes of Osho, Sackey, Ahmed & Spencer and see how they do. I did see a rare win at Fratton in 1978 (1-0) in the FA Cup when Steve Death had a blinder. I was at that game. Deathie was our best e...

Re: Matt Ritchie

Ya man said it's a player/coach role. Might be what sways it for us. Yep - 2 year deal with first year as mainly a player, 2nd year more coaching could be good for him - depends on how much he still wants to play. 39 apps at Champ level last year says he should still be very decent at L1 level - un...

Re: Pre Season games 2025/6

Away to Gillingham tomorrow Will be a bit anxious if Knibs is missing tomorrow, particularly as we seem to be linked with some attacking midfielders Me too. I thought Hunty was a bit evasive in his answer as to why Knibbs didn't play last week. He was asked about injured players, had to be reminded...

Re: Garcia to be sold

IIRC, a player can sign his first pro contract at 17, - prior to that he is on an academy contract. Unless Garcia signed a pro contract on his 17th birthday, and I think we would have heard if he had, he can just walk away when he gets a good offer. We would get some compensation for developing him ...

Royals and Racers Captain Jordanne Hoesli-Atkins has left the club.

Disappointing. On the one occasion I saw them play in the Autumn she was comfortably the best player

Re: They always score against us..

Going back 'a bit'.....George Jones (Bury) Just beat me to it. Seven goals in two games. Both games finished 5-1, he scored 4 down here and 1 in the return game, I went to both. The game at Elm Park was the only one I have ever left early. Even then I didn't want to go but my Dad insisted. ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a)

Anybody know what Garcia's normal / best position is? He played the first friendly on the left wing and subsequent ones at left back. I don't know enough about the Under 16s and Under 18s to know where he normally plays but if he is more of a left winger giving it a go at LB, that is a big ask at th...

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

Believe the following is the actual current 25 man squad that the FL say Reading have and shows the club currently have no free spaces which fits in with what the club say. If the club want to bring anyone in this month then first at least 1 from the list below has to depart either permanently or on...

Re: Ex Players

A week late I know but Charlie Hurley was 86 last Tuesday. Be wonderful if it was possible to get an interview with him and his time managing the club, after all he got the club it’s first promotion in 50 years and was the only league manager who could get some sort of control on Robin Friday. Inci...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Not the best of games. Coniah the absolute standout with some cracking saves. Craig decent in midfield, Abrefa good. Defensively we looked like a bunch of strangers, not impressed at all. Forwards strolled around, did odds and ends. Nothing there to trouble the first team. Pretty much this. Craig c...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

John Clarke looked horrific. One of the worst displays I've seen in a long time (probably since van den Berg) First half poor - second half was decent Nice to hear Ince praising Camara. Hoepfully will involve him now Agreed. Clarke and G-W both played out of position first half and it showed. They ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (h)

Isn’t John Clarke a left back? Would be a big deal to give him his professional debut out of position. Is he ahead of Dorsett? We were told when he joined that he was signed as a left back for the U21s / 23s. I queried at the time what that meant for Samuels. (Still have no idea what is happening w...

Much as I am in favour of the new structure, I hope we can afford all these appointments. Do they count towards FFP, does anyone know?

Craig sounds like a good signing from what others have said. Reserve judgement on Clarke of course but I hope that his signing doesn't mean that they are unconvinced by Samuels.

Re: Tom Ince - Confirmed

Whilst I am very pleased to have him here, I hope we have kept to a tight wage structure and not pushed the boat out for him. If we have paid him what he was (allegedly) previously on, we could find that most of our budget is used up, - especially with Moore still here.

Ark Royal Going back a while, but Tommy Jenkins for me. Glen Little is also an absolute must.

This is the right answer, for anyone old enough to remember Tom Jenkins. Jenkins and Little for me.

Royals and Racers
Broxroyal I only saw a bit of the game. Who is our number 10?

Osorio- the small curly haired lad

Thanks. From the bits I saw, he seemed to have something about him.
