Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Thank you. Hadn't realised you'd had a restricted capacity for as long as that and certainly explains why you've not had any 20,000+ crowds since the Premier League. The home sell outs were why I was surprised by you not having any 20,000+ crowds. I imagine your game against Derby will no doubt hav...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

My comment was hopefully obviously tongue in cheek re: us being big club :) Congrats, a cracking place from what I can see and a decent team to match. All the best! It wont be long until you are sorted and we will be back locking horns, hopefully in the Champ and who knows maybe the Prem. It might ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

And what guarantee do you have for the future? The current owner might be fine, but what of the future? When he dies/gets taken ill/loses interest etc, etc? It just strikes me as a real tragedy that PST struggled for so long and it dominated the lives of some of the individuals concerned for so lon...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

I hope you manage to find yourselves owners as decent as ours. You had the best owner it was possible to have, after so much hard work and dedication from so many fans - and then you voted to sell to an outsider. I find that decision absolutely astounding and so very short-sighted. We had no future...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Of course, finding ourselves in this league, playing a massive club like Reading is like a World Cup final for most of these League One clubs. Tbf, wasn't it just because they have recently finished a redevelopment and so they had a bigger capacity? They're top of the league after a horror decade, ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Everyone likes a big day out in a nice stadium vs a big club. Especially if they're likely to win. I dont think I have ever heard Reading described as a big club before 20 years above L1, 24k seater stadium. Seasons in the PL. Multi million transfer records. Category One Academy and first class tra...

Snowflake Royal
Royal_jimmy Peterborough have filled GU1-GU3 pretty much. Fair play to them. We are charging their fans up to £29 a ticket.

Re: Gate figure conspiracy-gate?

Well, every home game at Fratton the attendance is announced as circa 18k. The ground always looks full, apart from the away end. Not sure if this helps :D What would help is if this Reading FC forum actually had Reading FC fans on it, not Pompey scum so do one m8 Touchy :o And how would that help ...

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

The Saints on the other hand do not seem to be that unsustainable. They fell down the leagues, rebuilt based on a good youth team and have few stars on big wages. We are more likely to follow the Norwich or Swansea model than QPR (I hope!) Saints are currently running at 93% trunover on player wage...

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

All Pompey fans who lined the streets when they won the FA Cup in 2008 - were you one? - should be thoroughly embarrassed now when they look back at that victory, because it was tainted in the same way that Ben Johnson's win in the Seoul 100 metres was tainted; also, were you one of those Pompey fa...

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

The irony of a Pompey fan coming on here to lecture us on financial prudence, whilst, surprise surprise, defending the actions of the individuals which will see his club liquidated....Chanrai for example, "loaned" Pompey £17M using the ground (valued at £3m) as security, £17M being the ex...

Re: Financial Fair Play Initiative: the fans' view

You can still invest in infrastructure with no penalty, it's just the playing squad you have to be more frugal with. So they could spend as much as they want on the Academy, stadium, training facilities. All things that can lead to a bigger, better, more valuable club. So the owner of a business is...

Re: Congratulations

Pompey fans are among the best in the country and feel sorry for their loyal fans that their club has come to this. Hope they can find an owner who can at least get the club back on an even keel. The same loyal fans that turned to blue seats this season? Good luck for the future. Thanks for all you...

Re: Congratulations

However, their supporters had little, probabaly no, influence over the way the club was run, so it is a shame that they have to suffer. But I guess that's professional football in the UK for you. they have got the twat with the bell though, that's enough for me. But surely that alone is suffering e...

Re: I wanna go home, this is a s**thole...

Thought the Pompey fans were clueless yesterday. Responding to our ' is there a fire drill ' when they flocked down to the concourse after the 2nd goal with their own ' is there a fire drill ' to us 2 minutes before half time! :| Nice reply at the end from the Reading fans in response to Pompeys ' ...

Re: I wanna go home, this is a s**thole...

Pompey fans singing "I wanna go home, this is a s**thole" today. you're lucky to even have a club you spoilt little w***ers. If the FA and Premier League had a backbone you'd have gone to the wall last year. As for the 30 or so teenage tw@ts who were throwing bins into the road and lamely...

Re: Back from the Game - Pompey

Well, I cam on before the game and here I am after. Well done and congrats on the win. Didnt think it was a particularly good game, but was better than some of the other enconuters. Particularly the one at FP at the start of the season. Shame about the violence but I get used to that to be honest. g...
