Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Noel Hunt interview after the match - "If you run as fast as you can for 4 or 5 seconds, you can cover 50 or 60 metres."

Before last night, the 60m world record was 6.34 seconds, and that wasn't on grass.

Refuse to give The Mail money but if anyone can bypass the paywall: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14966609/Reading-Premier-League-Rob-Couhig-AI.html I also refuse, and I'm keen to stop others needing to pay as well.... For a disgusting right-wing rag, I'm surprised that their h...

Re: Womens euros 2025

As a gentleman of leisure I went to the victory celebration and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was much better in person than on the TV, particularly the open-top bus. It's interesting that most people wanted to see the players, but what I really wanted to see was the trophy. All good practice for next ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

U18s had been down to play Thatcham away today, but that game got called off. Instead our U18s played Brentford at Loughborough this morning and drew 1-1. And I think that the U16s drew 2-2 with Kingstonian U18s today, but that's not for definite. Lots of scholarships signed in recent weeks, so migh...

I ran Gittens' details through a compensation calculator (had to guess some elements) and it showed Reading's fee as €300k.

Tyler Adjei was in the England U15 squad for the recent tournament in Croatia. He started the first and third games, and got an assist at some point in the week. You may have seen recent articles about Cristiano Ronaldo's son - this was the same tournament. Also Adjei and at least 4 other Reading pl...

Brogue Okin-peters 24 years old in 3 months. Never had a loan never played for the first team. Why have we offered him a new deal?

He was playing for the U18s two seasons ago. You have his age wrong.

And you couldn't even type his name right, either.

Abraham Kanu is in the Sierra Leone squad for the AFCON U20 tournament. First game Sunday 27 April. Their last group game is on 6 May so he'll be back in time for any Reading play-off campaign.

Re: Players on international duty

Garcia - came on as a 94th minute substitute in England U18's first game. Started the second game but was injured after 31 minutes (whilst he was on the pitch England went 2-0 up against France but it ended 2-2). Wasn't involved in the third game. Kanu - started for Sierra Leone U20 in a 4-1 loss to...

Re: Players on international duty

Kanu has actually been named in Sierra Leone's U20 squad, unless there was a late change (which there might be as one of the defenders in their full squad pulled out today). The relevant games are friendlies against Ghana U20 and Morocco U20. The AFCON U20 tournament runs from 26 April, so I doubt i...

Basil Tuma called up for Malta, so that's three. Incidentally, Shrewsbury made it clear that it was Reading who had called the game off.

Re: Historic Football Quiz

Sanchez obviously could have played for England as well (born in London).

In fact, he did play twice for England Schools U18, although that's based on where your school is rather than standard international eligibility rules.

That very convincing win will hopefully provide a big boost in morale and confidence. When do the two sisters from Jamaica start playing? They're both due to join NCAA D1 teams in the US in the summer so, no disrespect to the girls currently in the squad, should be a whole level and more above in t...
