Re: Changes In Football thread

Brum Royal ... as a lot of the issues he runs into is down to coaches/players thinking they know the rules when they don't, or intepret them incorrectly.

They could solve a lot of that problem by making it compulsory for anyone commentating or summarising on TV to also have some form of referee badge...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I think it's great. A nod to our history. But white shorts would work better. The effect of the pattern is to lose to the vibrancy of the blue in the shirt - so the shorts look like they are a different shade. Agree that the shade of blue on the shirt looks different to the colour of the shorts/soc...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

This. This. This. Of course they should. But that's the whole point. They haven't. There's no granularity, no exemptions, no special cases, no taking individual circumstances into account - just a set, inflexible number you must attend. Just because it isn't spelt out in any announcement doesn't me...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

Try telling that to the pregnant woman who wants to keep her seat but is unlikely to be able to attend that many games. Or the cancer patient who will be receiving six months of intensive chemo etc. I get what you are saying but I can understand clubs being in a position where they have a waiting l...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

I think football is broken. Just scrap all the PSR/FFP rules and let clubs get on with it. Terrible idea. Football's broke, so let's just let clubs who are already cheating do whatever they want and watch loads of them explode out of business. Yay. :| And that would be bad to see “cheating” clubs g...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

The ludicrous farce that is City ramps up further, now their own fans are threatening legal action against them over the changes to the club’s season tickets conditions that means fans must attend at least 10 games a season   Good move, imo - stops people buying STs to just sell them on...

Sutekh
Winston Biscuit Superior Player Of The Match awards

:?: :?: :?:

Has someone copyrighted Man of the Match then?

It's all about a non-sexist phrase that can be used for men's and women's football, presumably.

Re: Doing the 92

I get it's about 'half-empty modern souless bowls' and maybe rubbish football. But its just madness to put these sort of perfectly decent stadia at the bottom whilst choosing decrepit terraces, uncomfortable outdated stands and terrible sight lines at obsolescent stadia ahead of them. They have a c...

Whore Jackie In distance order. Assume Sutekh's mileage is from the SCL, in which case Brisbane Road is 50 miles, not 80.

Is one as the crow flies and the other actually driving there?

Re: Modern football things you don't like

Over recent week, everyone on Sky saying how many PL matches they'll be showing next season and then repeating it every couple of minutes, before cutting to an add break that says exactly the same thing.

Yes, we get it!.

Re: Weekend Football

A Shef Utd win today would take the number of PL clubs owned by Americans up to 12, just 2 short of the number needed to change anything about the stricture of the league that they want. That's a thing? Yep, two third majority of clubs needed to make changes to the PL's structure or constitution etc.

Reports that the last round of redundancies was based on the assumption the club would be in the Europa League or higher for the next four seasons, so another round of extensive cuts expected very soon.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

These days, Managers rarely join a club where they know nothing about the players and the set up; indeed, many times the interview process will include presentations from the prospective manager as to how he sees ways of improving the current squad. (Which is similar to what happens when you go for...

Winston Biscuit project to knock down Goodison Park and build summat there scrapped and the stadium will instead stay in place and be used for the womens team (for now at least)

Just seen a comment that it's effectively a divorce. The men have to move out and the women get to keep the home.

Sign a two and a half year contract, work six months of it and achieve all your aims, get the rest of your contract paid off and you're now a free agent.

Nice work if you can get it!

No wonder football's finances are completely fcuked.

I think that's the first I've heard of the Cahill thing, sorry Stranded Yeah been pretty widely discussed. Was definitely an error. Re: G’arn then, somebodies got to….In Praise of Dai Yoonge

He's provided a perfect case study on how the current English football ownership and governance models are irretrievably broken.

And exposed the weakness of the EFL's governance abilities.

And provided the ammunition which will hasten the passing of the Football Governance Bill.
