Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (a)

Unbelievable. Dorsett once again playing the game in slow motion to be beaten to that ball for the cross to score. Wish the game had been called off, that pitch was absymal and our inability to play on it stopped us winning. Let’s be honest here, if the pitch had been perfect we’d prob have played ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (a)

Not coping with the pitch well at all. Lots of passes that on a normal surface are fine, but lose the ball on this one as the ball holds up or skids on inconsistently and no one can move or turn easily.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (a)

That's an unusual penalty to see given he got the pass away first.

Keeper goes the right way and still has no chance. Fantastic penalty taker.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (a)

Trying to play some decent stuff, but the pitch really not helping.

Another bizarre somewhat shapeless formation from Ruchardson.

But having Williams back in the heart of defence is a big reassurance.

This pitch wouldn't look out of place on a pig farm.

Seeing as this place is running slower than Scott Dann through treacle I will be running my match thread again on my HNA? Back up forum again. Head over register and enjoy https://aeback-up.freeforums.net/ Wonder if it's anything to do with the ridiculous amount of guest users? Most of those can't ...

Re: Bolton fall out

When that face belongs to someone lying on the ground who has fallen after a close tussle with an opponent. I haven't seen it on TV, but judged by the reactions of the Bolton and Reading players -none of who reacted as if they thought it was anything other than an accident. Well quite. Come on Sute...

Re: Bolton fall out

Oh, and it’s massively wrong. Have people been following a different club these last few years? No. Football is a spectator sport about tribalism and passion, not logic or reason. And the media circus has turned it into instant gratification or rage. They're just incapable of engaging reason. Just ...

Re: Bolton fall out

That would be a ludicrous edict and is never going to happen Why is it ludicrous, in what world should someone’s boot ever be near someone’s face? When that face belongs to someone lying on the ground who has fallen after a close tussle with an opponent. I haven't seen it on TV, but judged by the r...

Re: Bolton fall out

You can say that for virtually every red card incident; what is "completely accidental" in this context? The free kick had been awarded, but Kenny still decided to lash out at the ball which was dangerously close to an opponent's face - 2 things; what was he trying to do by launching a ma...

Re: Bolton fall out

The Chronicle has reported Leam as slamming the challenge on O’Connor on Tuesday as disgusting https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/25865699.reading-fc-boss-slams-disgusting-bolton-wanderers-tackle/ Personally, in the split second it happened, I think it was a completely accidental and zero int...

Re: Bolton fall out

That’s the hope isn’t it? We’ve a decent side with lots of good individuals. Really good CB options, JP, Wing, Marriott absolutely on fire and good depth It’s difficult to quite know why it isn’t clicking atm. The standout for me is the awful pass completion percentage- why are good technical playe...

I have been very unimpressed with Keane, but I have the impression we're trying to use him in a sub-optimal way.

Re: Bolton fall out

I can understand not going because the entertainment is low, I'm not going to criticise people for that. Find the regular comment along the lines of "If results start matching performances, Richardson is in trouble!" Couldn't the opposite happen? Performances start matching results. That’...

Re: Bolton fall out

Long term season ticket holders I know aren’t going because it’s so shit. I go because I’m a fcuking stoic legend. I get where papes is coming from but I’m afraid neither he nor Ian go to the home games and that is where you perform in front of your fans. And the performances have been shocking. La...

So, Plymouth. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b5/PlymouthArgyleFC_League_Performance.svg/3840px-PlymouthArgyleFC_League_Performance.svg.png Like, if you started watching football in the 60s, we'd have been in tier 3 the whole time and them in tier 2. Maybe if that was it and ...

Re: Bolton fall out

On fitness, perhaps a better word would be preparation and then it might follow that, having changed a manager, the new manager might have a different view of what players have the right preparation for the positions he wishes them to play in. Related to that is recalling Hunt's quotes about runnin...

Re: Bolton fall out

Kelvin. Marriott. Yiadom. Rinomhota. Nyambe. Ritchie. Maybe Lane, he's struggled with a couple of injuries and looked leggy at times. If you include pace in that certainly O'Connor and Burns. Obviously there's Williams, Williams, Kyerewaa and Elliott all out. Now Roberts too. Bound to be forgetting...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (h)

Hendo Also, Ward looks a proper player. Was very impressed with him.

Obviously a good player with plenty of potential, but I thought he had a few more wobbles v Bolton than the previous game. Including giving them their early 1v1
