Re: Squad for 2025-2026

It's a difficult balance. How would you compare Wareham to Smith when he was 21? Ahead of him for sure, and I can see him becoming a good L1 player, but he's not ready to lead the line for a team with promotion ambitions. Losing Craig is also a big blow, but he would also not be a 1st choice starter...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

How in oxf*rd are we losing out on an academy player to Exeter? We view him as a squad player, they offer 1st team football. Either way it's still disappointing Yeh, to lose all 3 is disappointing and really leaves a lot of work to get our squad ready. Craig is the highest potential and the one I'm...

Elm Park Kid Unfortunately WiFi might not be staying after all. Bit of a miscommunication. Up in the air that one.

Wareham has gone to Exeter. Craig gone as well.

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Firstly, we know Couhig is a hard bastard in negotiations, it's how he bought the club. It's also safe to say most fans would view the likes of Wareham and Ehibhatiomhan as squad players and not first name on the teamsheet. Craig is a bit different that I think he is genuinely a top half L1 player w...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Some chap on x @OliB_RFC is claiming all is not well behind the scenes. Reckons RC is not being honest in terms of us having a top 6 budget. He has over 7k followers and has been right about a couple of things. My expectations are realistic tbh, so I’ll be happy with a top half finish next season. ...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Let's chill. We almost certainly will have a squad good enough to stay in this division, so if building a squad good enough to win promotion and compete in the Championship takes 18 months or so, what's the problem? We want talented players, capable of improving with the right attitude and at afford...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Thinking about this week's signings of Clarke, Ryan and Stickland, I think they all need to have a decent role in the squad this season if we want to operate smarter. Before his ACL, Ryan was very highly rated and surely is in with a shout at our full back positions. Maybe we should sign a first cho...

Pre season starts today, can we read into who turns up? If you were rejecting a contract offer, would you join up this week?

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

This is happening again, this time will Lewis Wing. Lots of sites say birthday is 23 June but Reading site says 23 May. People a bit miffed over it on Twitter as the Club hasn't wished him happy birthday but his wife hasn't wished him happy birthday either so perhaps it was in May? Not sure what th...

Re: Rumour - the Yak back

It's in a position where we have next to nothing, so perhaps worth the risk.

I saw some fans on Twitter talking up Rinomhota, when I'm not convinced he'd get into our team.

Stranded Some account on that there Twitter has "leaked" the opening 2 weeks.

It has us away to Lincoln to start followed by a home game v Doncaster.

So we can discount those.

Tasty debut for O'Connor if true.

Re: Confimred - Paudie O’Connor

  Lincoln is one of the UK's hidden gems. Would happily move there if I could find the right work. The amount of times our fans chant "X is a shit hole" when it really isn't . He did just say the north, not Lincoln. Dunno if he lives in Lincoln or stayed more Bradford way Lincol...

Hard to judge any managers on their record under Dai, we were a shitshow. Judge them on their wider career.

Clement was unquestionably shit. Maybe Pauno is alright.

Clearly won't get a game at Wrexham. Has not played at L1 much in his career and got pushed out once Wrexham reached that level. Perhaps he's just not quite good enough.

Re: Conflict of interests, the Hunt's

I guess the 2 risks are ripping the club off for crap players like Jiaroobcian, but also not giving impartial advice to his own players. Obviously I'm delighted we signed O'Connor, and I think S. Hunt will have genuinely considered us the best opportunity for him. But equally, his perspective will b...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

I'm only worried about Mbengue, the rest will either stay or be replaceable. I guess losing Craig or Wareham would be a shame.

If we weren't already appealing, Pereira and O'Connor should convince potential signings that we mean business. We'll get top L1 talent in.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Given Savage is front and centre of the kit launch I'd be very surprised if the club were involved in negotiations to sell him. I'm not sure I have any concrete examples, but I'm sure that's happened before. Maybe Long? The media people aren't going to be party to transfer discussions. I don't thin...

Re: Ex Royals

Got to feel this is a massive appointment for Ruben either way. Stable club since they were bought, bigger budget, a chance to have a full pre season. He has a great chance to get them promoted and test himself in the PL Flip side is high expectations and higher profile. If he fails, he'll be gone a...
