Re: Richardson to Blackburn

Not ideal given how much he just got backed in the window, but I wouldn't be that disappointed either. Seems very odd if it happens, I suspect it won't.

Re: Spaculation - Azeez

Millwall rejected a club record fee, meaning at least £15m. If they stay down, you'd think our sell on windfall will surely come in the summer.

Colchester journo reporting it'll only happen if they can get a replacement in.

Re: The window closes at 7pm on Monday 2nd February

In hindsight, it feels like the summer was just too soon. Not enough of a handle of budgets to run the club, not enough confidence in the manager and coaching staff and not a clear plan on the positions we needed to strengthen, none of which is surprising in hindsight. Whereas we've shown our ambiti...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

Our 2-0 win shows what you get with championship strikers & keeper as opposed to L1 ones.. Northampton’s 2 best chances (1 on 1 just before half time and free head on 85) were very similar to our 2 goals. Marriott and Keane score / JP saves whereas their Cobblers counterparts didn’t. I think on...

Pepe the Horseman

Who Moved The Goalposts?
A solid shout. And you never know...

Who doesn't love cryptic dots...

Confirmed by the ITK account on Twitter that we're in talks with him.

That account is madly reliable. Don't know if it's another of Brogue's. But did say not over the line.

Re: Play-off/relegation watch.

I wonder if the table is starting to take shape. Lincoln pulling away from 3rd place, Huddersfield have won 3 in a row and are 6 points clear of 7th. I know teams have games in hand, but are not that consistent. Then a 4 point gap has opened up between 15th and 16th, so perhaps the relegation fight ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

GET IN MARRIOTT!!!! I can't remember the last striker this good at finishing. Fozzie? I’d say Le Fondre. Higher level too. Fozzie was a great player for us, but his biggest weakness was his finishing. When Le Fondre, Cureton and now Marriott were/are 1-on-1 you immediately think "goal". N...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

We're a real moments team. Don't look great but have the quality to score. Wing is the epitome of it. I'm not watching, but the first half was full of the usual comments about passing backwards and sideways. Now he has 2 assists.

Imagine how good we could be with an effective system and gameplan.

Why is it too early for Ward? He'll be match fit after playing regularly for Accrington.

Re: How best to approach the rest of the season

First, let's hope for a decent run so that even we don't make the play offs, we at least have something to play for in April. Then it looks like we have the makings of a good defence, with the signings there showing long term planning (contrasted with Keane for example). In midfield we have options ...

Re: Garcia to be sold

It does feel a bit disappointing. He's one of our higher potential players who could be worth a lot more if we develop him. On another thread I pushed back strongly on the idea that we should be priorising youth over signings like Roberts and Nyambe, but I think with the squad as it is, there is spa...

Re: Garcia to be sold

Sell on fee is critical. In a few years he'll be the perfect profile for a Chelsea 8 year contract.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

I agree we're a good run away from being right in the mix, but I just don’t think it'll happen. The team is undergoing big change again mid season, we still don't like a good L1 team capable of controlling games. I'd expect more of the same for February as new signings bed in and LR tries adapting t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

Interesting that everyone seems to have a different take on the game and our weaknesses and where it went wrong. I know where I think we have issues and yesterday certainly didn’t change that One thing which hasn’t been mentioned too much is 7 conceded from 3 games and lots of changes at the back. ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

I never really took the play offs this season seriously. My hope for this season is that it can give us a handful of games to really enjoy, show improvement and have us set up well to kick on next season. I think last night was an accurate reflection of where we are. Though let's not forget that Exe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

Looked borderline offside, their line was high. But no VAR, and benefit of the doubt to the attacker as it should be.
