Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Some chap on x @OliB_RFC is claiming all is not well behind the scenes. Reckons RC is not being honest in terms of us having a top 6 budget. He has over 7k followers and has been right about a couple of things. My expectations are realistic tbh, so I’ll be happy with a top half finish next season. ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Hendo Yeah, I don't think the problem is the price of our shirt - it's the price of football shirts overall.

Given how many people pay the price you could suggest there isn’t a problem.
Although I agree, it’s out of my budget.

Re: Rumour - the Yak back

My post was not, on the whole, meant to be representative of what I felt people wanted him for. The point I was more so getting at is that Cardiff fans being happy to see the back of him is perhaps a very good indicator at how the past two seasons have gone for him. That doesn’t exactly show much i...

Snowflake Royal On their day, Yaks and Big Kelvin E will utterly destroy L1 fullbacks.

It’s scary to think of STAR organising coach travel for our games in Brazil, Canada, Malaysia and Korea.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

I'm not sure I have any concrete examples, but I'm sure that's happened before. Maybe Long? The media people aren't going to be party to transfer discussions. I do vaguely remember a few seasons back a transfer rumour going around and walking to the game the player was front-and-centre in the Megas...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I think what they have done with the last few kits is great. When you try and do something different / unique you are inevitably going to divide opinion but then even in seasons when we just had template kits people moaned about something. It’s much better to have something that creates a reaction…....

Re: By Far The Greatest Team The World Has Ever Seen

Actually we’re placed at 613th but equal 609th. https://theanalyst.com/articles/who-are-the-best-football-team-in-the-world-opta-power-rankings Luton (probably unsurprisingly) are the best of the current L1 sides at 238th (equal 236th). Stockport are best of the current L1 sides (374th, equal 373rd...

I believe Auckland, who lost 10-0 to Michael Olise’s Bayern Munich at the World Apathy Cup recently are ranked somewhere in the 5,000s.

Does this suggest Strickland won't be moving to first choice..... Which saddens me..... Or that Mbengue is defo off. Mbengue played the final third of the season with a heavily strapped knee, and if you watched him in the prep for corners he was constantly stretching his knee out and rubbing it. I ...

*GOOD NEWS ALERT* Michail Antonio back on the pitch already (85th minute sub for Jamaica last night). Fantastic news. I can remember quite clearly hearing about it, seeing the photos of his car and thinking he may well not survive. To see him back playing again is great and I hope West Ham give him...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

I was thinking of a graduate as someone who has completed the training rather than someone who happened to be part of it for a bit then moved on or got rejected !
Just spotted another couple of glaring omissions as neither Eze nor Gittens are listed - that’s £100 million of talent !

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Must admit I was thinking academy as in Scholars but of course it covers all ages I still think over the last few years we’ve had more than a couple of players per year break through and play good numbers of games. Need to find the entry level groups for the last decade and compare the names, althou...

I wonder with the signings if he's underestimating how long it takes to tie up the loose ends. Working in a job with lots of governance, I know first hand how even simple stuff can take ages to get through all the reviews, governance and sign offs; it makes me tear my hair out frequently. I wonder ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Would be interesting to see the stats for our Academy, gut feel says we produce more 20+ game players but that may be way off. You would think a Cat 1 academy attached to a non PL club is going to push more players through.

Re: Team photo

Snowflake Royal Totally impractical, but would be nice to have a team photo from the open day with the team and staff. And then just a horde of STHs in the background.

Don’t see why that couldn’t work. Ideally you’d want a nice grassy bank for the STH to mass on.
I reckon it’s a great idea….

RFC Latest @RFCLatest · 15h If this transfer goes through we will receive part of a 5% solidarity payment for having Jamie Bynoe-Gittens at the club between the ages of 12-23. Borussia Dortmunds Bynoe-Gittens (Born in Reading) and at Reading from 2013-18 has just had an offer from Chelsea for 42 million!! I believe Reading got him on a youth contract from Chelsea. Don't suppose anyone inserted a sell on clause by any chance   https://hobnob.royals.org/forum/...
