Tony Le Mesmer Who was the keeper who just turned up with his boots at Leeds for the League Cup 1/4 final?

Steve Sutton.

Tommy Wright was quality when he was here, McKeever also. Salako and Watson were brilliant

Why do people think Clement was good when he was here. Scored one goal, on debut, that the keeper pretty much let in and was shite from then on. Was given a load of abuse from the East Stand in his last game before he returned.

They both played one game for us that season. that was the infamous season when we fielded seven different keepers. I think they were Nixon, Mihailov, Sutton, Hammond, Bibbo, Sheppard and good old Jimmy Quinn (when a keeper went off injured, although happy to be corrected

What about Steve Mautone or did he arrive the following season?

Ok I will correct you!

Jimmy Quinn played in goal the following season, the 7th was Chris Woods.

There are a couple of anomalies in the above suggestions. Here is the definitive list of keepers over the 95/96 and 96/97 seasons:

95/96 Sheppard, Mihailov, Woods, Quinn (when Sheppard went off injured against West Brom), Sutton, Nixon, Hammond.

96/97 Mihailov, Bernal (when Mihailov was sent off at Ipswich), Bibbo, Wright, Mautone, Quinn (when Mihailov went off injured against Bolton), Hammond.

That was in a game at Elm Park against Bolton, we won 3-2 and it was one of only two league matches they lost that season as they racked up a (back then) impressive 102 points.

It was Mihalov that went off - ironically he was actually having one of his better games for us that day.

I also seem to remember that your namesake scored a hat-trick

He did...was a part of our promotion season. Did well when Whitehead was injured and came in on loan.

Indeed...although I didn't actually think that was relevant.

Well, you seemed to imply that Roberts came in immediately when Whitehead was injured, which was obviously not the case.
