philM
rfcjoe lols at most people loving Leroy now because he's scored in one game.

I'm guessing but maybe the interview he gave saying he had matured, realised his mistakes and wanted to commit to RFC has had more impact than the goal.

I'm unconvinced, but time will tell all, so I'm going to be optimistic and welcome him back to the fold with cheery chanting and high hopes

Oh no doubt I'l' give him my support as he plays for Reading, but it is a bit lol'ish the people are practically ass raping him because he scored in one game.

I'll judge him in a month or so.

am i the only one who thought this was going to be another joke topic?
our top two strikers both scoring lots of goals, lita just come back (worth at least a chance I would have thought), and someone's suggesting we buy back a striker who hasn't scored this season (i know it's the prem, but i think form counts for quite a lot), who's only just come back from a pretty serious injury? weird. i agree with the sentiment that it'd be nice to have a little more physical presence up front, but kitson would be the last person i'd go to, brilliant as he was when he was with us.

Focher Sell Lita for £1m, resign Kitson for a 'reasonable' fee, maybe £2m, everyone's a winner, petit dejeuner.

I'd have him back at the right price, his interview after he left suggested he had unfinished business at RFC and would bust a gut to make an impression here again.

Ain't gonna happen though, Lita's going nowhere, at least until the Summer.

hutch Agreed, I`ve always thought he was fantastic and one of his biggest fans, but let sleeping dogs lie and all that. Time to look forward, not backwards, as somebody else on this forum suggested why don`t we go for someone of the calibre of Matty Fryatt (example), Lita has commited his immediate future to us and maybe he`ll sign a new deal should he be offered one.

Because Kitson is light years ahead of Fryatt.

But not as fit on a consistent basis.

Never was fit for an entire season, still got 6(?)19, 18, 1, 11 and about a 1 in 2 goals to games ratio for us though.

Royalblue: I've already gone into my thoughts on the dressing room disruption thing. Read them if you want to bring that up, I don't think repeating myself on this thread is much use. It's only 3 pages.

On the criminal record, drink driving is stupid and bad, but he has been punished and it's not something that is likely to interfer with his playing ability or the club's reputation. A one off incident (I hope) which I deplore and significantly lowered Kitson in my estimation, but I would much much rather have Kits at the club than Lita.

there's a load of nonsense on this thread,

Lita scores one goal, any striker should score and he's back with a "new attitude"

as opposed to Kitson who has "unsettles the dressing room".

I didn't know you could buy tickets inside the changing rooms, I must get one.

Kitson possibly had a moan when things weren't going well, guess what, it happens.

He also scored a lot, created a lot and ran about a lot.

Lita got dropped, sulked, went on loan, comes back and scores against a rubbish watford side and "Leroy's back",

Let's start him and all remember just how poor a player he is when he's not in space in the penalty area.

LMFAO @ that bull-crap

Will people also stop with the naive belief that we've got £5.5m for him. NO WAY DID WE GET THIS.

That will include a payment on staying up and on a certain number of goals certainly, probably appearances too. If we see more than £3m I'll be very very surprised. (Assuming they go down).

and there was me thinking the objection would be against anything but the money. i didnt say we got 5.5 for him. honestly id no idea of the exact figure so didnt want to postulate.

but, even for 3m, id say that was a tidy piece of business.

He has gone. He went, in 35 years of watching RFC I have seen other clubs, teams etc, but never have I changed support when we've been relegated. He did, more to the point, he did half way through a pivitol season for the club when we were bent on supporting and staying up, he was bent on cash and self worth. He thought he was better, he wasn't. lovely guy, great for us in his day, but took 6 months money and was eyeing up another job all along.

That bit wasn't specifically aimed at you. And £3m for Kits would be good business. Doesn't mean he wasn't a very good and would be very useful for us. Compared to a lot of footballers I would describe him as nothing like a merc. Especially given some of the interviews he gave before we got promoted

Well said Statto all the nonsense about Lita does my head in as well. People who say that RFC never criticise him in public, and therefore he is not a problem player, should realise we may need to loan or transfer him so what do they expect.
I also see the Kitson drink driving myth continues to be perpetuated. He was actually charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath if I recall correctly. A subtle difference.

Why would you not provide a specimen of breath if you had not had a drink?

I think Kitson could work much better at Stoke if partnered with Beattie and with Etherington putting crosses in. More his style of play.

According to wikipedia, failing to provide a roadside test or an evidential specimen is a drink driving offence. So, he was done for drink driving.
