At last S Hunt substituted !!!!

by BigSCOT » 11 Mar 2009 11:09

Was impressed that Coppel had the balls to substitute Hunt after 60 mins last night - TABB ran about and got stuck in like Hunt did 6 - 8 months ago !!

Like to see TABB start in front of HUNT on saturday !!

LONG and KITSON up front - Im a great fan of DOYLE but hes not cutting the mustard ath e moment and needs a couple of the games on the bench !!

??

It was certainly good to see a corner kick that managed to beat the first man, that's for sure.

That really p*ssed me off last night, what the hell is booing Hunty going to achieve other than knocking his confidence and also p*ssing off all of the other Irish contingent? We need Stephen Hunt to play his part if we are going to go back up, booing isn't going to help one bit.

Did anyone boo him? I didn't hear it.

Bt at last the worst Reading player finally goes off in a game,it was a plesant change. I fully expect to hear he's signed a new 5 year contract on double money tomorrow.

Funny how there are lots of "Don't boo" posts on here mixed in with a sprinkling of "players read this site" - hmmm.

What booing was that? All I heard was cheers. Took him ages to get off the pitch too unlike Cisse.

Evidence which suggests its been far too long since he's been substituted.

Having wanted him not to be selected for months I was actually surprised when it happened especially as Little looked even more knackered than normal.
I don't know how Coppell actually saw the light but fortunately Tabb showed in his cameo that he is a stronger tackler than Hunt and his delivery is better so we may see him playing over the coming weeks.
Unfortunately this substitution was weeks later than it should have been and who knows we might even have been nearer the automatic spot than we are if Coppell had changed things earlier.
BTW AP where are those that thought that Hunt was worth the £5 million and that we did the right thing in keeping him and paying him even more money?

"Oi! Hunt. Get yer 'air cut, you 'orrible little man!"
Seriously though, I've noticed that as he has a habit of running with his head down, when he does bother to look up (eventually) he can't see anything because his hair is in the way.
I think giving him a haircut would improve the quality of his crosses. Bizarre suggestion, I appreciate, but perhaps with a grain of sense in it ...

It's the best option at the moment: we need to improve the distribution from the back
