rhroyal I've seen our players put in some class performances this season, but I can't think of many matches with guts and fight. Sheff Wed away maybe. That'll have to change for Monday. After our run it's a miracle that we can take it down to the last day, just please don't blow it again......

Plus what's being said about Cardiff. If they lose and Preston win next week and their scores total a GD of 4, ie. 2-0 in each then they will miss out altogether.

a two goal win for Preston and a one goal defeat for Cardiff will see them miss out (assuming Burnley win)

Definitely not - I have felt for a few games that our form was coming back slowly. We need to get some momentum going and be really up for the play-offs (if needed)

It's hardly ever better to draw than win...

Let's first assume we beat Norwich.

The final day permutations become thus:

Reading go up if - Reading win, and Sheff Utd fail to win
Birmingham go up if - Birmingham win, or Birmingham draw, and Sheff Utd fail to win
Sheff Utd go up if - Sheff Utd win, and Birmingham fail to win.

I think that's right. Sheff Utd have to win their last game, because either Birmingham will have 81 points or more, OR Reading will have 80 points and a better goal difference.

Fezza Norwich may prove a bit of a test as I doubt they want relegation!

Meaning they have to come at us and attack, giving us the room to play our high paced game which should rip 'em apart....

Here's hoping.... :)

We can still do it!

a sheff utd draw will do, all on 80 points if we win our 2 games, we go up on our massive goal difference

WE SIT ATM +35

SHEFF UTD +25

BIRMINGHAM + 16

our goal difference could and I hope will be key cmon

Had Brum won I would have been confident of an easy Reading win on Monday, but now that Monday's match means something I'm not so sure our side can do the business when it needs being done.

How many people could honestly have said they could have seen Preston beat Brum?

BTW if they hadn't I would have been sorely dissapointed as it was one of the most ineptly reff'd games i have seen in a long time.

I, personally, thought it was more likely than Palace getting a result against Sheff Utd.

This is the same Preston team that put 6 past Cardiff last week - they're on fire at the moment and it was a do or die game for them toiday, so no great surprise with the result.

I have just hoped against the odds that we could still have a shout on the final day.

For many years, this team has given us either a hope of staying up, or Europe, or the playoffs or even bagging a league record for all 38/46 games of a season. Even if we don't make it then, the final drama would be a fantastic (and undeserved) memorable drama to a season that petered out forgetfully.

Yet we can't forget todays other results - Forest and Barnsley failing to knock Norwich down to league 1. They have more to play for than us in some ways, with ignominy in league 1 and a BBC multtmillion pound championship contract next season.

Will our motivation of what may yet happen next weekend be enough to overcome a team playing for their careers? Maybe not.

But if we make it, I cannot wait to sing
Theres only one Neil Warnock!

let's hope we don't have to play them in the play-offs then.

The question is will Warnock want to stop SU from going up because of some possible mistreatment from them a couple of years ago or as a lifelong SU fan will he want them to?

Warnock's a pro.
Aside from that disaster against West Brom? (Patrick Suffo???) years ago, I don't think he can be called into disrepute into throwing a game.
I reckon a draw at Selhurst.

Can you imagine Warnock telling his players to go and throw a game?..dont think that will go down too well on the dressing room..or the board room for that matter

He doesn't have to "tell them" - he could play a weakened team, or change their style of play. Palace have nothing to play for. And Simon Jordan is a c0ck.

personally i didnt know sheff utd played palace last game till an 1hr ago when i checked.

I WAS DELIGHTED

i couldn't have picked a better team

I think it will mess up the sheff players heads with warnock barking the orders for palace, and if he don't you know simon jordan will sack him

so ironic
