Floyd's prediction may well have been correct had LOLee Bowyer not continued his personal trait of being a dick. Preston coped far better with losing a player.

They shouldn't have been down to 10 IMO. Williamson didn't deserve the red.

Oh come on. Floyd makes rash prediction in obnoxious way; sundry people laugh at him when it turns out wrong. So far, so good. Then various others come along getting huffy about the thread. That's LOL time for me.

He can be obnoxious on here (as can most people), though I'm sure he's a lovely chap.

I had Floyd pointed out to me once at an away game. He's a lot younger than I thought from his comments... more of a young Victor Meldrew.

Floyd's online persona and offline personality are both in my top 10 of Reading fans.

He's a ledge, and a passionate, genuine and engagingly opinionated fan.

I find it quite amusing that Floyd has been given his own thread, which will just go to massage his already relatively large ego

BTW, what Schards said.

Imagine my surprise as I logged in on a Sunday evening to read my own obituary  . I immediately checked my pulse and realised that, as I wasn't in fact in a Jacuzzi with Girls Aloud, I was neither dead nor in heaven. Instead I am - with all the rest of you - in some sort of promotion purgatory.

Suffering, as I tend to do, from more mood swings than the Montreux Jazz Festival I have now revised my prediction; in an alarming u-turn of which Mark McGhee would be proud of, I hereby announce my belief - nay presumption - that Reading FC will be promoted. A prediction, I somehow suspect, which will ultimately be as accurate as the one I served up yesterday.

RwC, I look forward to meeting you and Reading Bedding on the pitch after the game next Sunday. I'll be the fella in the 1994 Pelada shirt.

Sigh! I've never been in any doubt that Floyd is not obnoxious. I don't think anyone's attacking his person (so to speak), but just gleefully laughing at his comment. The thread could have gone like this:

Floyd: give it up people, why do you do it to yourselves? Brum will be promoted tomorrow.
Us: Ahahaha, floydy! You complete tit!

The end. Everything subsequently was completely unnecessary (including this post no doubt)

Disappointed? If we win tomorrow and then again on Sunday with Sheff U failing to do so, I will LOL heartily like Sid James before tearing across the pitch like David Pleat and then climbing up the West Stand like Edmund Hilary to thrust my groin gleefully in John Madejski's face like Cilla Black.

I for one don't doubt you Floyd, having read you for a few years.

But if we do make it (via playoffs or whatever), there'll still be people with no clue saying how shite the Championshp was this season and how we'll get arseraped every week in the Premiership if we keep Shane Long/Steve Hunt/Harper insert current boo boy here:

So Floyd is, what, knowledgeable and funny and we jump on him for falsely predicting a football result?
There's something wrong there.

seahawk10 inside he is still that 10-year old RTG perched on his father's shoulders at Elm Park.

Aren't we all?

I'm really getting nervous about tomorrow. I'd thought I'd be all dispassionate, all "yeah, whatever, we're in the playoffs, whatever".

Away in Cornwall next weekend - wondering how to approach this with Soly ... :|

Moody yes, passionate and dedicated undoubtedly, but anyone who, upon receipt of a bit of footie-type banter typical of that which has gone on for the previous few years, retorts, not with similar acceptable banter but with "first time I've been dissed by a confirmed paedophile" without any subsequent apology forthcoming, also seems pretty deserving of the "obnoxious" sobriquet, at the very least.

Sounds like you have a grudge there, Mr Royal "My brain increases every time you insult me" Rother.

FWIW, I know Floyd as he's a friend of my brother. On here, he's very pessimistic, but I'd rather read his comments than the likes of Royalee, SDR and Royal Blue.
