Top Flight
And which of those other 22 teams have recently been in the Premier League with a £30Mill per year wage bill whose parachute money is about to run out?

Gate receipts, TV money, few transfer fees - we were in the black in our second season in the Prem - we then sold Kitson, Shorey, Sonko and others, offloading wages in the process which will have gone back down after relegation and did the same but on an even bigger scale last summer whilst still receiving parachute payments. Your maths must be appalling.

And this background mis-management has not been picked up on by the remainder of the squad, I wonder who out there is not currently playing to his strengths, collectively resulting in underachievement.

Surely we won't need a DoF in League 1!

O'Dea "Brendan Rogers was a great manager and a good bloke , but there are other people at club who were bringing it down."

Quite right - the players; I remember - for instance - your non-decision allowing Watford a free header for a goal in yet another game in which we led and failed to win, Darren.

There are only 2 players who can justify their selection and they are McAnuff and The Sig. It is a shame that O'Dea could not go further and name names. Suffice to say that there must be some very pissed off grape peelers somewhere as the announcement of BMcD on a permanent basis has been somewhat overshadowed by this!

Maybe a "pay per game" arrangement with Celtic - would stack up with what he said about others at the club being to blame.

Wow, that's the biggest leap I've ever seen on here.

Barry the bird boggler
West Stand Flash Nicky Hammond and Nigel Howe. That is fairly obvious.

Oh yes, that's right its so obvious

Come on Barry, all the clues are there, O'Dea says people and the 2 NHs are people. It just takes someone of Flash's intellect to crack the code

But on other threads people were complaining about BR not playing Mills.

It wouldn't be the first time the club has based selection of a player on the likely cost incurred. Therefore I am not sure where you get your "huge leap of logic" from.

Don't blame him for coming and speaking out. There has obviously been stuff going on behind the scenes which has had a huge effect on this football club.

Have to admit, I didn't buy into a lot of "conspiracy" theories at the start of the season (if that's the right word), but comments from players and BR, combined with how uncharacteristic of our club the sacking of BR was, has made me think again.

Actually, most logical thinking people would probably come to the same conclusion. Had those causing the problems been players or more junior members of management at the club then Rodgers would have got rid of them (from what I saw of Rodgers when he was involved with the Academy, he very much believed in a disciplined approach and would not have hesitated to act if someone stepped out of line). The fact that the people causing the problem remained and remain at the club would suggest they were more senior than Rodgers.

In an interview (with the EP?) following his departure, Rodgers had a swipe at Howe and inferred that he did not hold JM responsible for his downfall.

Looking back to the time of Madejski's tax holiday, Howe was left in charge of the day to day running the club and we all know what happened during that time.

If Howe is the guilty party and, by a process of elimination, Hapless Hammond would appear to me to be another likely party, I am just surprised that Madejski has let them have quite so much influence. Maybe that is an indicator of a Chairman who no longer has the same level of interest as he used to.

Surprised no-one has suggested he could have been referring to fellow players though I do think the most likely person is Howe and he is simply re-iterating Brendan's view.

Dont understand all the Hammond bashing, again - I've never heard anyone other than fans crticise him.

Dorset-Knob Irish player in supports Irish manager shock! meaningless...............without facts!

What a stupid comment - so all English players support all English managers do they?

Besides, O'Dea's Irish, Rodgers is British.

Yep, my sympathy for Rodgers grows by the day. Stitched up right and proper by the looks of it.
