Michail Antonio

Hi guys, Owl in peace here.

First off congratulations on your promotion, you've looked a force this season and deservedly gone up as champions.

Just wondering what you guys though of the lad Antonio? Noticed he didn't really get a look in for you in the Championship, and wondered if you think he has a future at your club? I know he's still quite young, but now you've taken it up a level, I'm presuming he's not going to get much of a look-in with you next season either?

I would love to see him at Hillsborough again, whether it be on loan again or permanently, he's been awesome for us and stood out a mile in league 1.

I hope he gets a year on loan with you in the championship and tears the league apart. It would be a bonus if we stay up and he becomes Kebe's heir on the right after we sell Kebe for silly money to fund expansion of the stadium.

Firstly, well done on your promotion as well.

I'd sell him, not because he doesn't have the quality, but I'd rather have Obita, Robson-Kanu and some new faces.

Yeah, congrats to you as well.

I would like to see him on loan, the reports from SW sound great, but his limited chances here and age have not helped him, maybe one more season on loan, then we will know exactly what he is all about. It would be a massive risk to include him in a premiership squad at this stage. Plus he already has strong competion in the youth stakes with Obita.

I think I would have the same view if I was a Reading fan. Let him have a full season on loan in the Championship and see how he copes at the next level up. 5 goals in 14 appearances from the wing is a great return, and a handful of assists as well. His strength and ability to skin a man is great to watch, full backs have been scared to death of him since we've had him.

congrats on the promotion

glad we got out when we did cos the championship is full of massive teams next year.

i like antonio- bit raw,and nervy, showed promise and potential in bucket fulls. but struggled to force his way past kebe and club captain mcanuff for a wing spot, which is only going to get harder next year.

happy to sell/loan him to you next year.

Congrats right back at ya.

I've not seen all his performances by any means, but I've seen a fair few of his minutes. He's got something about him... strong & quick for sure. His control and decision making has been a bit suspect, he's looked a bit clumsy to me. I reckon he's got it in him to be a good Championship player and maybe better. But he needs to get minutes to do it and will be best off trying to get there with you as he's already settled in your team.

There's a fair few of our fans who'd like to see him stay with us, maybe another season's loan with you. I reckon a bid of £800k to £1m will get him for you and will be best for everyone concerned.

Good luck next season.

Thanks for the link. I had heard that rumour, but wasn't getting my hopes up. For what promise he's shown I'd snap your hands off for that price.

Good summary really. He breezes past defenders but sometimes plays the wrong ball after he's done all the hard work. Still a bit of a rough diamond, but if he works on one or two bits of his game, he'll be a great addition to any Championship team.

Cheers mate, seems there is mixed views on the lad across your fan base. Hopefully we can put a fee together that suits all parties and get him on board with us full time, failing that, I will be down your way to beg you gaffer for another loan spell.

Nice to see yet another clubs fans who don't seem to like our little red and white sisters from across town as well

Cheers for the feedback guys, and good luck for next season. Hope you're the next club to establish themselves as a Premiership outfit, you never know, we might be back there in a few seasons.

1867 owl Noticed he didn't really get a look in for you in the Championship

Many of our current first team were in the same position - loaned out for experience before returning and breaking into the first team. I imagine Michail Antonio may be the next, however our leap up a division may have postponed this as he could probably do with a season in the Championship first.

Antonio will be a better player if we sell him to Sheff Wed. I can see staying at Reading slowing down his development significantly with the players in the way, and sometimes loaning from one place to the next isn't as effective as giving somebody a chance to settle.

With Obita a bright kid at 18, who won't need to be part of the 25, I can see sense in letting Antonio go for £500k+. Not to say he isn't good; I just don't think he'll have enough opportunities here and if he waits a couple more years for first team football he'll suddenly be approaching 25 with little experience.

Mrs F is a Wycombe fan - she'll tell you it's Already Relegated Wycombe as SSN and 5Live said over and over agian at the weekend.

And on that subject,
Already Relegated Wycombe Wanderers
Already Relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers

Bolton had better look out although no W at the start may favour them slightly.
