Archie's penalty Why does everyone assume that everyone would move to a bigger club if they got the opportunity?

It's not always about the money.

You are kidding yourself if you think any Reading player would stay out of loyalty. If a bigger/better/club with more money comes in for any of Readings players, they will leave. That's why I would find it hard to support a small club like yours, knowing full well your best players will go if the team doesn't get promoted. It's a harsh reality that you need to face upto.

reality faced.

i prefer it to supporting soulless clubs like yours just for the glory kesmond

Terminal Boardom What's this? A first half goal for Reading???

Feds goes walkabout again when he should have stayed. If you are not going to get the ball then take the bastard out but to miss everything is incredibly mediocre.

Two very good finishes as well from HRK and ALF. 2 points off the play offs? That's as maybe but light years behind the top 2.

13 points, while playing pretty poorly = light years?

once we hit our post xmas form we'll be making a point a game up on em!

That is 3 x 3-2 wins

Away Bristol
Away Ipswich
Home Peterboro

All of which we could easily have lost

And all of which I had money on - Brizzle was at 40/1, the other two at 25/1. Always a worthwhile bet with RFC, because it's always over-priced.

over priced for good reason.

I can't remember the last time we won 3-2 in normal time before this season.

Now I have found a little time to look back.

Before this season the last time we won 3-2 in normal time was 30th January 2007, a month in which we won by the same scoreline twice previously.
Hope you haven't been backing that scoreline for the last four and a half years!

Just had the pleasure of watching the goals.

Not sure what was going on for their first. First viewing it looks like McAnuff is nowhere near his man. But actually I think he pulls back from the crowd into space between it and McAnuff. Perhaps the cap'n should have been more aware and quicker to him, I think someone else was supposed to be marking him though.

Our first, good positioning from Church. In exactly the right place to make sure, far from convinced that was going in without him. Not convinced there's an assist from Kebe there as it's hard to see if someone gets a deflection / save on his shot. (good ball in from Harte)

Our second, lovely control and lay off from Kebe for a beautifully intelligent shot by Le Fondre. (Decent ball in from Harte?)

Our third, good header from Hunt (?) and a super run and finish from Hal. Be nice if he didn't need to rely so heavily on his left and could have slotted it away with his right.

Their second, shambles. Why was he allowed to be put through so easily? If you're going to come out of your area that late on, make damn sure you take the ball even if it means smashing the man. Far better off narrowing the angle as it was not clear through on goal and Gorkss was chasing down.

Federici continues with normal service. A few great games, a few less good games, regular great saves, plenty of camera saves and regular cock ups.

P'boro moved the ball better than I thought and were more threatening than I recall as well, must have been boredom on my part. Then again, highlights don't show the whole picture. Still don't think they really threatened scoring a great deal other than through utter defensive shambles.
