tlcs My dad always told me

YOU PAY PEANUTS.... YOU GET MONKEYS

we did indeed pay peanuts for him from some shite 2nd div club
in France

Can I correct you there? He was on loan to a shit French 2nd division club, so we didn't buy him from them. And how do you know how much we paid for him if we hadn't disclosed the transfer fee?

Thaumagurist* Kebe is frustrating, isn't he?!? Too many times this season have I seen him go on an exhilarating run down the wing with the ball only to oxf*rd it up by letting himself get tackled or do a bad pass or sky the ball when attempting to make a cross. It was the latter on Sunday, two woeful crosses sailing over into the stand behind the goal. And he'd switched flanks twice in an attempt to make a difference.

And yet, last week he was excellent in laying on two crosses for Long to score his goals.

Why can't he be consistent? :|

consistently inconsistent is as close as he gets im afraid

He has the potential to be a good player.

The man's 25 years old. I would have expected him to have solidified some of that potential into ability by now. Unfortunately for us, 41 appearances into this season, and 46 appearances into his RFC career, he is still showing us that he can't play football very well.

i dont think thats true

he has shown us both that he can play football to a high standard, and that he usually doesnt.

Problem is that that just isn't good enough for a team in our position.

The scary thing is that we bought him in whilst we were trying to stay in the Premiership and needed some quality to fill the massive void left by Little injuries...

i agree

just replying to them that said he cant play football very well.
he can, he has, but over the season its been far too fleeting to be of much use.

Pretty spot on there Brendy.

For someone with so much skill, he screws up spectacularly far far too often. See those two crosses into the south stand against B'ham for example.

Whilst he has been capable of brilliance this season, over all I consider his performances to be in the negative. (note to snowball, yes I know he has 11 assists, I'm not arguing that in the slightest, just what you can clonclude from it)

Kebe is not good enough to play at this level. He will never be good enough to play at this level. I am not interested in statistics that show he has 11assists in 43 games when I do not see a statistic showing how many times moves have broken down through him. I still don't think that 1 assist per 4 games is a figure to be proud of. I don't blame him, I'm sure he tries his best. I blame the person who signed him and played him, week in week out. At the weekend we are going to see Kebe against Eagles. I hope by some miracle that one has an off day while the other has his first on day

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Sadly, Jimmy lacks the latter. I have seen nothing to suggest that he can perform at a consistently high enough standard.

An answer to this question should be sufficient to confirm the above:

Which Premiership teams would be interested in signing Jimmy Kebe?

At best, he is a flat track bully. Compare his recent performances against Derby, Norwich and Birmingham. At worst?

I've heard that he's been compared to Ronaldo.

If you read through this thread you'll find it going through waves of praise for Kebe then abuse for Kebe. Says all you need to know about him. Great on his day but massively inconsistent.

Jimmy is the French Andy Hughes, great talent, but just misses that final composure at vital times which draws criticism. But he does have a fantastic talent on his day which is why it is frustrating when he gets it wrong.

Similar to Bikey. A defensive rock, but with the total inability at times to control his clearances.

The margin between being fantastic or utterly useless is that small in the eyes of some of our FF's.

He IS frustrating, but what if a coach sorts his last touch out,
gets him hitting 90% of his crosses into the right area and improves his shooting?

Interesting that he scored 7 goals in 34 games in the French 2nd Division, 2 in 33 for us
