Cummings isn't worth 6. In the 1st half he just let Dyer run past him every time he got the ball. He never got anywhere near him. Really really poor. 2nd half he was somewhat better but he needed to be. Even then with Dyer's goal he just let him go and made no effort to chase after him as he opened up the space to shoot.

Great result, and Brians bought some lovely Millsy wallpaper with which Madejski can paper over the cracks.

blimey, what a load of moaners.

OK, I followed it on a very dodgy link thousands of miles away, but I am just relieved and ecstatic about that result.

GTFI.

The last 20 minures we seemed to lose every header at the back as they kept pumping the ball in. I assume Miils being injured didn't help but what about Pearce? Very worrying.

Sarah Star Hands up who saw that win coming?

I always thought it was on the cards because Leicester are in even worse form than us. But we won't get many games like that against weak opposition, so I'm not reading too much into it. So pleased we capitalised, though. We did it, in true McDermott fashion, by pushing for the late win away from home instead of settling for a draw.

I'll tell you what, though, they look terrifying up for corners in the opposition box. How many have they scored between them this season?

Not sure how you can come to that conclusion. Always going to be like the Alamo, and all in all, we withstood the pressure and job done.

Bit harsh on Long, I thought he battled well to win possession for us when he could. Few good heading opportunities. Just didnt get much service. Think we should've brought on Hunt for him towards the end mind

howser With the team we were able to pick, that has to be the championship result of the day, that was a performance of guts and effort, special performances Mills, Howard, Pearce, Feds and how well did McAnuff do when he went to full back.

Spot on.

Hopefully there isn't a crack in his ankle. Disturbing that he's playing unfit: I hope that doesn't backfire on us. Good job we've got a lay off now.

Bit harsh on Cummings-Howard had the chance to block him but chickened out.
There is nothing worse for a right-footer than to have to play at left-back-I had this discussion with Vision many years ago-just try it and see.
I thought Cummings did o.k considering he was played out of position and against the most dangerous attacking player on the park.
I though a draw would have been a fair result but the heroics from Mills, the terrific save by Fed and the classy finish by Gylfi were top moments for us and without them we would have lost.

BTW McAnuff's 20 minutes or so at right-back v Pompey served him in good stead for tonight.
Well done Jobi-was anybody else surprised that he didn't bring Davies on to play at right-back?
I think Church touched the ball once in about 20 minutes.
Hey-we won a game.

Well on the basis of that performance, Cummings is a shed load better than Williams. Granted he was beaten for speed a fair bit, the lad played really well, got stuck in, PASSED the ball out of the defence rather than hoofing it.

Please tell me however, why is Shane Long still playing football? What did he offer today?

Have to disagree with you a little bit there. Cummings did chase him (still got nowhere near him mind you), but he did chase. Howard on the other hand stood and watched Dyer run past him and remained rooted to the spot. Cracking strike to be fair though.

Considering Cummings was playing in his first game in months, clearly only playing because we're desperate AND out of position, I thought he did pretty well. Cut the boy some slack on this occasion!

Cummings had a better game today than williams has had in the same position all season, may just be a one off, but for now, hes in my good books

Cummings had a good game today. Dealt with Dyer well and got stuck in. Better performance than Williams has put in so far.

Nothing whatsoever.

Oh, except to battle hard to win a ball he had no right to, feed it out to Kebe who crossed for The Sigs goal.

Constantly closed down the opposition defenders when they had the ball, so not giving them time to begin the passing movement much loved by Sousa, and forcing them to go long much of the time.

But apart from that, he offers nothing.

This is a classic example of someone judging a player because of PAST performances rather than what he did on the pitch today.

Dyer was a MASSIVE handful and would have been for any full back today; Cummings did well enough for Dyer to switch to the other flank to try his luck against Jobi halfway through the 2nd half. Also, how many times was Cummings the last covering defender managing to see the ball to safety or to block the Leicester forwards' runs into the box?

For a player who almost certainly knows that he doesn't have a particularly rosy future at Reading (if at all), and who hasn't played a lot of first team football since last Autumn, I thought he did superbly well.
