pretty much agree with 90% of it

just the slight questions over -gunter NEVER looks comfortable on the ball, and pearces pace being teh problem.-i think gunter does look comfortable going forward, and thought pearces positioning and strength were the problems on sunday

Is that as well as his pace ? I would normally accept that his positioning and strength get him OUT of trouble.

Pearce was struggling against the pace of Ulloa, prior to the sending off.

But since Sonko we've not had a "quick" centre half IMO

Maps was fairly pacey, but they're good enough for this league as long as their positioning is solid and Guthrie/Kara help out. There was once or twice where they got out of position but just managed to get a touch to it.

Did you think? I'm not so sure. He got absolutely annihilated by the P'Boro forwards

in his first 90 minutes of the season, weeks after a preseason game or two
in a game where he knew full well he was off in a day or so.........

Maybe I am being a little harsh given the circumstances of that one, but I still think Sonks is the quickest CB we've had for a while.

A pretty crap game that was ruined by the ref early on with an overly officious performance and it was obviously after 15 minutes that the game wouldn't end 11 v 11. Not only was he over officious and pick, but he was extremely inconsistent as well, which is just as bad if not worse.

Having said that, Pogrebnyak was foolish for the theatrics that followed him being fouled as it gave the ref an excuse to make a howler of a decision. It's a shame as he'd done alright up to then but I think it was probably a bit of desperation as, after an ok start, we'd struggled to contain Brighton and get a foothold in the game.

A pretty poor performance from all really and we looked like a team who'd never played together before struggling to find a way of keeping the ball and breaking down quite a good Brighton side. Our midfield really struggled, perhaps because they were outnumbered, but all three of Guthrie, Karacan and Williams were poor on the ball (worse game Guthrie's had all season), with only Karacan making up for it with his industry and the few times he almost threatened the Brighton goal.

We're crying out for that centre forward who can play naturally in these formations Adkins is playing, and yet again Le Fondre shows he's not really up to playing 90 minutes at this level effectively.

Big improvement needed all round.

nope, pace seemed no issue.
it was him getting the wrong side of the attacker time and again, and being unable to force his way round with his strength

though i agree- these are usually his two strong points.

he also wont come up against many who will give him such a torrid time this season

Agree Brendy - wasn't getting burned for pace down the channels, he was being overpowered by a strong and canny centre-forward.

Although I did chuckle as the Brighton striker was constantly on at the ref trying to get Pearce booked only to get hoisted on his own petard when he rashly put his foot up.
