Just seen the goals, shocker from Moore there, two great poachers efforts from the young lad.

Snowflake has been very critical of Clarke. Then again, he's critical of all our black players...

Don't want to blow too much smoke up Clarke's arse but I thought his movement to lose his marker for the first was excellent, as was his anticipation to pick up the lose ball after his first shot was blocked for the second.

WestYorksRoyal Couldn't follow today closely other than goal alerts, but great result. Could it be a change in momentum?

A few points I'd be interested to know:

Were we good? Did we deserve the result or was it more of a smash and grab?

Could Clarke be a genuine solution? Or could today be a "Macheda" moment for a player who doesn't end up making a big impression?

How do we expect our injury crisis to look after the international break?

We were poor. 1 actual good cross and a Yiadom run ending in penalty area pinball with two shots at the keeper before the third was tucked in.

Clarke was somewhat off the quality of a not great game for the most part, similar to previously. But he kept on plugging away, took up good positions and made it count when he got a chance. I think he deserves a start, though Puscas does seem hard done by. Not sure he'd have scored either chance though.

What the oxf*rd you on about you prick!?

I've barely said anything about Clarke. Other than pre season when I said he should be given a chance over the likes of Carroll.

Get to oxf*rd.

Agreed on Clarke, he looks very raw but as I said in my previous post, his movement and anticipation for the two goals suggest there's some good fundamentals to build on. He reminds me a bit of Darius Henderson.

You just called me racist you prick. And for slating a player I haven't slated.

The only Reading Clarke I've criticised is Steve.

Go oxf*rd yourself.

tidus_mi2 Despite Reading seemingly having a bit more about them I just can't feel a goal coming.

I don't understand why our crosses are never aimed at the actual striker we have on the pitch. Always drop about 5 to 10 yards from any Reading player, usually well over hit.
yup

refreshing

The lad is just turned 18, he has been on nobodies radar until today.
Just gotta hope that he can deal with the ‘seasoned pro’s’ now that he will be targeted, going forward.

Delighted for him and the team including our management

The fact he got the one step quicker ahead on the defender and had the presence to nod it in beautifully is enough to convince me he poses a bigger threat than Puscas. Puscas just doesn't give us that threat.

Just another huge "Pat on the Back" for our amazing Academy. FFP is giving us huge problems but all these talented youngsters coming through should be a massive cause for optimism for the club.
We should be able to offload both Puscas and Rafael in the next window saving us a large amount of money, whilst having the confidence that we are in good hands with these youngsters coming through.
The short term looks sketchy, however, if this is a wake up call for the club and the owners to run the club within our means then the middle and long term futures look pretty rosey

Don’t think any have slated him. Perhaps slated a manager for bringing a raw 17 year old on with 10 minutes to go without setting the team up to give him service?

It’s not Clarke’s fault he’s involved. He hasn’t offered anything at this level so far, but today there were glimpses of some real promise. I’d still like to see us try and find a way of playing with both him and Puscas, but if we insist in playing one up top Clarke deserves the start after his performance.

yes

He will have a lot to live-up to from us lot now too

As already said...there’ll be a lot of managers aware of him now....they’ll be setting their ‘dogs’ on him early-doors each game that he starts.

Credit to ‘manager-in-waiting’ Ian....should’ve featured him sooner this season.

Our Academy has been our saving grace and if we had more faith in the players coming through we would have saved a lot of money in transfer fees.
