Hoop Blah

Hoop Blah File under Paddy Kelly? You're having a laugh, Kelly was excellent but had injury basically end his career.

I think O'Dea was totally over rated when he came down here and I wasn't too impressed to be honest and the only similarity is the Celtic connection.

Shame on you!

Not at all.

Two young players clearly with a bit of ability but for different reasons never had the chance to really do much here.

I'm amazed you think Celtic was the only similarity
- age
- position
- type of player
- irish
- limited number of games

I'm not sure your personal assessment on limited evidence should lead me to have any shame !!!

In terms of how good he looked for us in their respective Reading careers he's miles off of Kelly though. That was the key for me and why I don't think they should be compared, unless you want to compare Brayson with Beardsley that is!

I wasn;t aware Peter Beardsley had ever played for us, and you'd have to be pretty stupid to compare a top class international to a bit of an also ran lower division player.
Kelly and O'dea both same to us as fairly raw young centre backs, although O'Dea obvioulsy had a bit of Championship and SPL experience. Neither played enough games to allow anyone who values their cedibility to make too much of a judgement about them.

Upson was only with us for a little bit, he was quality.

If Ivar goes in the summer we'll find out if mc d rated O'dea if he tries to get him back.

I'd have thought that those at the club O'Dea slated would have something to say about that

was always a good player- looked classy- its just he suffereed with having to play in an underperforming team in a makeshift everchangimng back four with 1 real full back.

I thought this thread was about the Irish political columnist - Robin O'Dea
