One thing I think we need to be really careful of doing is not allowing the youngsters to go on a prolonged losing or winless streak.

What they lack in experience and quality, they make up for in youthful exuberance. But if they get in a rut and that drops, it could be hard to get out of.

There should be plenty teams we can pick up points against so we should avoid it. And I'm not saying the older players would come in and turn it around, just we shouldn't let a bad run harm development. Cycle players in and out, keep them fresh. Keep the desire high. Give a bit of distance to runs of disappointment.

blythspartan I honestly don’t know what my expectations are atm. In the league table thread set up by IR I’ve got us to win the playoffs, but realistically I think mid table. I am enjoying this season more than any since 2011/12 and unlike some of the people on Twitter, I don’t believe we have a divine right to be beating teams like Exeter.

I am expecting the odd thumping along the way and that would be painful against Oxford, but the last few years have taught me to suck it up. Whatever happens I am hoping that we can finish the season strongly as that’s often a good indication of how the following season might go.

My expectations are low, would be happy to just stay up (with everything going on off the field) but think at best we could put a little challenge in for top 6. We’re competitive in every game but we are still a way off being a genuinely good team imo (rightly so). It’s such early days though but there are definitely encouraging signs.
