Only because its becoming untenable now.

The problem for me is that there are no signs of any improvement coming from this team.

We have got progressively worse throughout the season. The football has got more turgid, and we are resorting to the long ball more and more.

I can't see things getting better under McDermott. Yes the quality in the squad isn't there, but tonight the fight wasn't there either. Sunderland wanted it so much more.

The confidence is just shot to fcuk now.

If we go down on less than say 20 points then I can't see how Brian can just pick up the pieces next season as if nothing's happened - that's why I voted to for him to go.

If we'd been in the mix & just missed out in the last few games & the performances were good then I think everyone would accept it. But things are getting worse.

Poor bloke this is just horrible.

Cannot believe how the *rselickers at BBCRB are completely exonerating McDermott.

He completely cocked up his transfer dealings over the summer, has stubbornly stuck with 4-4-2 when the midfield is overrun in every game and has shown he can no longer keep the players united and motivated.

I just don`t know how anyone can defend him right now, its management from the bottom drawer , but we will learn from this and move on.

I don't think it's his fault though but for whatever reason things are getting worse & once these things happen they can't be undone.

Not his fault? Fcuking hell. Why so many flat-earth earthers on here? Responsibility sits with Anton, and with the players, and with Brian. You don't think ANYTHING else could be done except play an almost tactic-less 442 every single minute of every winnable game?

Ok fair do's...let me rephrase

He is partially to blame but quite honestly it seems he is the fall guy for us being so damn lucky last season & therefore us being SO out of our depth this season.

Unfortunately, he now looks like a typical lower league manager.

paultheroyal Thing is, he ain't going anywhere.

What will be awful is fans chanting McDermott out on Monday night.

For that reason I think we'll show our feelings by leaving our seats empty on Monday. Think he has to go but don't want to subject him to the chanting.

Whilst a large proportion of the blame for this seasons performances lies at Brian's feet, I don't think sacking him now will do much good. Besides, we're only in this mess because he got us promoted.

Abstain.

I feel so sorry for him. Unfortunately I think the fans will turn soon unless he offers up his resignation but I really don't want to see that.

I agree that we are down regardless but the way this season is going to pan out, he won't be able to repair the damage next year. Too much will have happened & too much unrest.

I highly doubt he will be manager come August whatever division we're in.

TBH, I think we've been pretty patient with him and it's only the fact that he's done so well and been so liked previously that's let him get away with serving up such insipid rubbish for most of 16 games.
QPR are improving. Saints are improving. Villa are improving. We've just given Sunderland a massive boost. We'll be bottom by January.

There is an old Italian proverb: "If you want to know if a fish is bad, look at its head"

Quite frankly, the buck stops with Anton and SJM. Their refusal to do anything other than do things "The Reading Way" has the club exactly where it deserves to be. BMcD performed a miracle to get this club promoted last season but those players were never going to be good enough for the Prem this season. A serious, major overhaul was needed and it didn't happen. Therefore, the future is of 4 parachute payments to soften the blow of relegation.
