Jerry St Clair On the Year Of The Royals video there is a feature that follows McGhee for this game, including his Churchillian "Gilkesey, you've gotta start" half time team talk. The are hundreds of coppers visible in the background when McGhee arrives at the ground.

Jason Bowen scored in that game IIRC, looked really useful.

Fair play to the circa four blokes who had a go when Swansea jumped in the South Bank. Suspect it would be even fewer than that if they jumped in the North Stand now.

You could also rely on Stoke to have a pitch invasion at Elm Park and cause a bit of aggro too.

I went to hide behind the burger van, but one of the bigger boys was shouting at me to stay where I was and start windmilling. I was so paralysed with fear that I just stood there looking gormless while total spastic mayhem ensued about 10 yards away.

Gives me a boner when I think about it now tbf.

I remember walking up to the ground with a mate in the 90s and half a dozen Stoke blokes were walking up in front of us. One of them said something to us and we gave them a bit of backchat so they picked me up and threw me in a skip on Wantage Road.

Quite funny looking back - we were way younger than them so it would've been a bit harsh to give us a booting.

I was there.

Giving it the biggun from the left side.

LOL at all the boys having it on their heels and leaving a few shirters doing battle

Wonder if there were any dads at Elm Park that day to this lot

If we're talking bovver at EP then I think Brizzle City win the award. Can't remember the year, early 80s-ish. Started ripping up chunks of the Town End and lobbing it on the pitch, at the rozzers and towards the SB.

Then they invaded everywhere with half of A and B blocks joining in..... and all that was before half time when their manager, Terry Cooper, took his Bovril in to the Town End to calm them down.
