Believe he is in contract, so going nowhere unless another club offers him a similar deal.

If he wasn’t under contract there wouldn’t be a conversation - we’d just ask him to stop turning up and bothering us !

In his recent interview he kept referring to us in past tense. He will be off I’m sure

"At Blues, we had ownership problems, which look like they’ve completely changed now, and it looks a fantastic club. Reading is in a real state. For such a club, like Reading, to be where it is, is sad for football.

"People in power don’t recognise or do the right due diligence on people buying clubs because of what the club has had to go through, the manager, the players, redundancies, no food, and no away travel. For a club the size of Reading, it’s disgraceful. Everyone involved has done well to guide them to safety."

Notice when describing Birmingham he uses the word ‘we’ but uses ‘it’ - ‘to be where it is, is sad for football ‘ when talking about about us.

Then the second paragraph lots of ‘the’… ‘the’ club ‘the manager’ ‘the players’. No use of ‘our’ . Then uses the word ‘them’ in the last sentence. ‘Guide them to safety’

He never uses ‘us’ or ‘we’ when describing Reading.

I dunno maybe I’m reading too much into it but it doesn’t seem the language he’s chosen to use there is conducive with a player committed to the club, or indeed a player that is staying. It’s just very detached language

Think its completely fair to say, the move has been a total disaster from both sides and the sooner both parties are able to move on the better it will be for all.

Fair play to him if he moves on to play elsewhere. I doubt anyone else will pay him what we are, and he could easily sit on his arse taking his paycheck.

11 League appearances won 1 drawn 1 lost 9

He was the sub we'd bring on to shore up the defence and seal the points and then we'd concede*

No thanks.

* have no idea if this is true but it just feels that way

Sutekh
SouthDownsRoyal So is he leaving? Any update on this?

Until new owners come in and sit down with the management to decide about the playing side of things Harlee is not leaving the football club. Maybe the management want him around as a player or just for sharing experience with younger players or to maybe bring into the coaching side of the game. Alternatively perhaps, when the ownership is sorted the club will look to come to a mutual agreement to pay up the rest of his agreement before he's o.o.c. next summer.

Probably not a priority right now.

This could be a problem

I remember when he joined, he said in an interview something along the lines of "When a club like Reading call, you don't turn them down". A club like Reading - 2 years of transfer embargoes, 2 (soon to be 3) seasons of points deductions, a club who's not paid it's players on time on a number of occasions and an owner who's gone AWOL and stopped paying the bills.

Now hindsight's a wonderful thing but either he's incredibly thick or he was dreadfully complacent and thought he could stroll around in League 1 for 2 years making easy money to puff out his pension fund.

He looks like he came here to wind down his career, unlike someone like Morro who came here to prolong their career.
