Four points from a very difficult opening series of fixtures is a decent return and our forthcoming matches are winnable so we should be fine. However I do think excuses have made given for Saturdays result particularly regarding International friendlies. Most other Premiership clubs have to put with it so we have to as well. I think it is great that we can field a starting 11 as we did against Everton with 10 Internationals on the pitch. I always remember back in the 1970's when Leeds were up there with the best in English football that they could boast a complete team of Internationals.......little did I think we would be in that position one day. We cant have all ways. If we sign players from other countries we cannot deny them the chance to play for their national team. The fact they become established for their country also adds to their worth in the transfer market so it is of benefit to the club. International managers just like club managers want friendlies to experiment and prepare for forthcoming competitive matches. It has always been thus although it is probably worse now due to the greater number of qualifiers played these days with so many more"European" countries emerging in their own right. We have to accept it and move on.
