Weather allowing (and lets face it there could be more casualties at the weekend including our match if the authorities consider the surrounding area too dangerous for 20k football fans and traffic) these are the scheduled fixtures for the weekends 7/8th and 14/15th Feb in the 2nd Division.

7th February

Barnsley v Crystal Palace
Birmingham v Burnley
Blackpool v Doncaster
Charlton v Cardiff
Coventry v Wolverhampton
Norwich v Bristol City
Nottm Forest v QPR
Plymouth v Derby
Reading v Preston
Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed
Swansea v Ipswich
Watford v Southampton

14th February

Birmingham v Nottm Forest
Bristol City v Southampton
Burnley v Wolves
Cardiff v QPR POSTPONED
Charlton v Plymouth
Crystal Palace v Coventry POSTPONED
Derby v Reading POSTPONED

Doncaster v Sheff Wed
Ipswich v Blackpool
Preston v Norwich
Sheff Utd v Barnsley POSTPONED
Watford v Swansea POSTPONED

Here's hoping Burnley can drag themselves out of their current run of poor form.

Why has the Burnley - Wolves game been postponed?

Burnley play the winners of Arsenal -Cardiff in Round 5 and that game doesn't take place until the 16th Feb, Burnley have a free weekend as a result and should be playing their scheduled league fixture.

Why not have the Derby V Reading game either this coming tuesday (10th) or the following (17th)?

Next week is International week so no midweek fixtures.

DOn't see why they game couldn't be moved to the 17th though.

Looking at the fixture list (and international breaks etc), there are only the following "windows" for re-arrangements:

Tues 17th / Weds 18th February
Tues 24th / Weds 25th February (I imagine this is also FA Cup 5th Round replay week)
Tues 24th / Weds 25th March (although with 28/03 being an International weekend, can games be scheduled for then?)
Tues 7th / Weds 8th April
Tues 21st / Weds 22nd April
Tues 28th / Weds 29th April

If the Preston game this weekend gets postponed we could end up having quite a busy April (depending on when the schedule Derby (a)).

It won't be called off.

Then again, weather predicitions are rarely right
I don't like how all of these fixtures are piling up!
Did we have a similar problem in 05/06? I can't seem to remember.

I'm sure that even if the pitch is playable, the police / saftey people / whoever can request that the game is postponed if the stands / roads / anything else is deemed unsafe. Seeing as the temperature isn't likely to get much over freezing, I'd say this was a distinct possibility.

An example being Tuesday's (non) game at Plainmoor, pitch and ground was absolutely fine, passed the inspections no problem. Match postponed, why? Because the police advised Weymouth of the travel conditions and the weather forecast for the late evening and the coach companies wouldn't take the team there!!

Hope Saturdays game isnt PP'd but would not be suprised if it was...

Absolutely gutted about the Derby game being moved.... Hoping its moved to a Tuesday so i can still go! 8)

And the fixture pile up isnt too bigger deal, we're not the only ones being affected.... Plus we have a fair few out on Internationals next week, including Fedders in Australia, and its fair to say we're not exactly at our best after an International break. Not having a game next Saturday gives us a week to preapre for the next game... Bristol at home... which im also missing!

To be fair getting up and down the hill to the Mad Stad might be a problem if it's still icy.

Derby tend to play their midweek home games on a Tuesday so you should be OK.

Watford v Swansea scheduled for 14th has already been re-arranged for Tuesday 17th so why not our game v Derby?

But the weather's been like this all week and the club have been aware that they have 20,000 visitors coming on Saturday so they'll be prepared for that, right?

The fixtures are hardly piling up. If no more games are re-arranged we will get to 1st March with 2 games in hand on Wolves and Preston, 1 on Sheff Utd and none on Birmingham, Cardiff and QPR, so its hardly a problem

Not a bad problem to have with the Derby postponement as this give us 3 home games on the bounce against PNE, Bristol City and Notts Forest where 9 points is a real possibility considering our seasons home form.

Take 9 from 9 and this could set us up for March where we will have to be at our best on our travels.

londinium Worst case scenario on Feb 14th evening = 11 points behind with 2 games in hand NO SEX
Best case scenario on Feb 14th evening = 2 points behind with 2 games in hand LOTS OF SEX

Likely scenario???? I think 6 points behind with 2 games in hand and a handjob

Reckon this will get moved to the last couple of weeks of the season which could make it a massive game.
