winchester_royal I'm looking forward to seeing how Baggie advances.

Also, watch Antonio burst onto the scene.

Far too early for them surely...?

Still wouldn't that be great? :D

I think if anyone can get Kebe to play then BR can. Since Sidwell left I have been saying that the time has come to see Harps step up to the plate. Again, I think BR could be the making of him. As for the sprogs coming through, much depends on who joins us be it on loan or permanently. I would love to see Robson-Kanu burst onto the stage but I will put my joker on Shane Long.

Baggie in terms of reserve team/possibly cup football.

Antonio was in squad of 17 for last Burnley game so he is close.

Rodgers has already said he prefers an attaking 4-3-3

Probably more of a 4-2-3-1, where you have two holding midfielders, two wide midfielders plus an attacking one supporting the striker.

So when you're defending it's a 4-5-1 and when you're attacking it's a 4-2-4.

So a flexible set up then, rather than a static 4-4-2, been calling out for this or similar for a long time myself, i think it gives more options, especially when you have the right players in the squad.

As for the question, could well be Harper, S hunt should soon be gone, and I can see Harper and Mate taking the free kicks and corners again, which really was about Hunts main contribution last season, till he decided to aim them all at the first defender!!!!

Harpers corners to Longs head could seeem exciting , and a few 20 yarders straight into the net would go down well ALA Shorey.

Really? I didn't know that. Cheltenham seemed to quite like him but reckoned he couldn't shoot straight to save his life. Having played a few games in a relegated League 1 club without scoring a goal, it would have been an amazing rabbit for Coppell to have pulled if he'd played him against Burnley!

Show's how desperate he'd got really doesn't it?

I don't think he really had anyone else to include and Antonio wasn't on the bench, just used to get a taste of it I suppose.

From the bits I saw of him, including that hilarious miss two yards out infront of an open goal, he didn't look great. If he gets close to a start I'll be amazed.

Missing an open goal from 2 yards out with the ball on the ground at his feet didn't stop people thinking Lita was a great striker.

No one has mentioned Sigurdsson. He is potentially an excellent player. In fact apart from left back and one centre back slot we could field a pretty exciting team of players aged 22 or less

Hamer
Kelly
Pearce
centre back
left back
Karacan
Sigurdsson
Robson-Kanu
Henry
Long
Church

Subs
Baggie
Davies
Antonio
Andersen
Bryant
Bozanic

Didn't stop Les Ferdinand having a pretty good career either!

I wouldn't write him off on the back on one passage of play or one glaring miss, but I'd still be surprised if he makes the grade here.

Gylfi Sigurðsson...

I'd like to see a goal-scoring midfielder in the team for once!

God i'd love Long to be our top scorer now

That would be the vindication you're after if he was top scorer with 8 and we finished mid-table, would it?
