Well done. This is a thread designed to discuss and celebrate the best of the last 10 years regardless of what your opinion is of the current set up.I would have thought even the narrowest of minds could have managed to add something constructive to that given some of the great times we've seen over the last 10 years. Sadly I appeared to have over estimated you

If you want to continue your incessant childish monotony can you kindly do it on the other plethora of threads which are designed for it. There's a good chap.

Some people ae too oxf*rd precious on this board. I am sick of this "Because you dont agree with me you are childish" shit. Get a grip saddo! It's a forum. If you dont want to know the answe, dont ask the question. Now oxf*rd off!

Yeah you clearly don't take yourself or the forum too seriously judging by that reaction.

If he had answered the question then you might have a point but he hasn't has he? Its a childish cheapshot on a thread which is specifically trying to avoid just that.

I don't actually give a flying one myself but I just thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can celebrate the successes of the last 10 years (there has been the odd one you know) without being drawn into the usual petty squabbles..

So in which games did Dariusz, Gilkesy, and Osborn play this decade then?

And how can a country play for a team?

Winchester Royal Hahnemann, Murty, Shorey, Sonko, Ingimarsson, Little, Convey, Sidwell, Harper, Kitson, Doyle.

Obviously chosen, but there is no question really... That team is so nice to read.

Every player contributes in that team. Wouldn't of done it any differently. That team took several seasons to create, and they almost 'grew up' together.

sandman Hahnemann
Murty Ingimarsson Upson Shorey
Little Harper Sidwell Convey
Doyle Forster
Manager:Coppell

Forster is my joint favourite player ever. So makes it ahead of Kitson.

Pretty much yep, altho Parky could contest Harper's place, also Caskey for 18months was outstanding, but longevity would keep Harps above him.

Of the team that got us, from a pretty desperate situation, into the position where we first of all challenged then got promoted from Div 1, arguably the hardest of all the leagues to get promoted from (just ask Leeds or Forest) I would choose Whitehead, Robisnon, Forster and Cureton. The rest of my team would come from (obviously) the 2005-2007 squad. But, without the ones I mentioned we quite possibly wouldn't have been in the position where we could challenge so incredibly in 2005/06.

Out of Decade/Century/Whatever, I chose "Whatever".

Actually I didn't read the thread title properly, but never mind.

I'm trying to be more original, but it's got to be Sonks, Harps, Bobby into the team if we limit it to this century.

I usually agree with a lot of your opinions AP, but how the hell could Parky challenge for a place in the team?

He couldn't get in any of our half decent teams in his prime, let alone a select 'team of the decade.'

110% commitment to the cause, better player than got credit for and also unlike HArps he could tackle :)

In the l8 90's early 00's, Parky was the only one I always felt like he gave a shit when we were really danny DIRE.

Parky is a legend, 400 apps or so he must have got in the side at some point m8.

Hahnemann, Murty, Shorey, Ingimarsson, Bikey*, Sidwell, Harper, Little, SHunt, Doyle, Kitson

The only position where I'm struggling to think of someone to qualify given how Sonko fell apart and Bikey never really did anything consistently.

Nearly men: Forster, Cureton, Salako, Convey, Sonko, Caskey, Williams, Kebe and Parkinson.

Wdowczyk would be a shoe in if he'd played for us in the noughties, but that would be a pretty slow defence!

I agree he was a legend, and better than often given credit for, but still he just wasn't as good as a lot of other midfielders we've had so I don't get.

400 apps were largely won in our less than decent sides which covers a hell of a lot of the time he was here unfortunately!

Sonko really was good before he got injured though.

He made up for his own mistakes a lot of the time but he waws imperious in the Championship, and still pretty good in the Premiership. Bikey has all the ability and physical attributes but never got close to Sonko's consitent quality for the 18 months before the injury.

I'd possibly have Upson in there above the all the others centre backs sonce 2000 anyway (although I'm not sure loan players should be included in these type of things).

There aren't a lot of candid8s really. If we are talking 99-09. Parky, Caskey, Harper is the obvious one, Watson was a good player but often a squad player or Gunnarsson really. Similar to Watson.

I was never much of a Harper fan, barring 2 years he blew hot and cold and for me if we are being ultra critical was the weak link in the best team of a few years ago. Gunnarsson at worst was his equal.

Having said that I wouldn't question anyone who put him in the best side of the last decade.

It's a fair point, but I think Bikey edges Sonko on overall talent and didn't do as badly as consistently either. I'm disqualifying Upson on the grounds that he was only ever a loanee.
