Was meant to say "I"

Mate, you quoted me saying the wrong thing. Look at the first few posts on this thread and you will see you had me quoting what the other guy had said

Well done Reading.

We may not splash out stupid amounts on finished articles but we certainly seem to acquire and develop players well.

Good work Hammond, Madejski etc.

Anyone with Reading Player; I would recommend watching both the Jordan Obita and Eamonn Dolan contract signing videos. Nearly ten minutes of a football bloke [Dolan] talking sense with no hype, repetition or clichés. Dead impressive, still rather hope he becomes our manager some day.

McDermott, Gibbs and Dolan are not a bad bunch to have at the heart of things. All 3 are proper football people who seem more interested in the game than the egos or nonsense. I suspect a club with them running the football side could do decent things given time.

Interesting to hear that he trained with the first team a bit under Rodgers......

Happy with this, our academy is producing players capable of our first team and the more up and coming options we have then the better. I like to think after taking a lad at 8 years old to our club he has some affiliation and passion to play for us. Youth is the way forward.

He's the best player to ever come through, that's not hype.

We're are now starting to see players who have come through in a top Academy since a very young age, even Jem, Sig and Karacan have not come all the way with us.

People will talk of Reading as one of the top production lines in football over the next few years, they will keep on coming and coming.....

Pardon me for not being massively over-enthused about being the new Crewe.

Yeah, but don't foget, it's a fairly insignificant investment, developing kids for several years.

apparently.

I remember when Eamonn Dolan did a guest commentary spot on Reading 107, his commentary was basically like having a fan on the radio.

I specifically remember his chants of "Cheat, cheat, Cheat!" at the ref

Perhaps we could take the Crewe model to a new level. They did exceptionally well for essentially a skint small club, bouncing back and forth between tier two and three mainly for quite some time.. Maybe we can do the same, for a medium sized club bouncing back and forth between tier one and two.

I could live with that.

United hardly did badly by producing their own kids.

Have sat next to Dolan a couple of times at the ground and to be fair, his passion is unbelievable. Clearly loves being part of the Football Club and holds RFC close to his heart. It's encouraging to witness I must say.

Barcelona have done quite well recently also.

Given the challenges Dolan has faced in his life I'm not surprised he enjoys every moment.

Played with him when I was at Reading. He's grown ALOT! He used to be fairly weak, and easy to knock off the ball, but he's turned into a big boy. Hope he does well, he was a nice lad.

I'd hope we manage to produce good ones more than once a generation though....
