BR2 Shorey showing yet again that he is our best left-back.

He's better than Harte, I'll grant you that, but he was at fault last night.

Let's the United player ran at him, no closing down at all, they put a ball into the box and score.

I dont know if you were watching a different player but shorey was awful second half.

..... this was the point I was trying to make.

ZacNaloen Shoreys poor defending contributed to at least one of the goals, can't say he showed himself to be our best left back...

I thought that we had to CBS on the pitch last night arnt they there to deal with crosses in to the box from what i seen pint sized Hernandez crept in like a thief in the night in front of morrison

No the i think you will find Vidic done his job to a T and Morro got caught, but then again it was dire all over the pitch plenty of huff and puff but sadly no class Ball retension 0, movement 0, huff puff and scrap 10 that is why we are in the bottom 3 very sad but very true

thats also rubbish. we retained the ball very well in the first half, and our movement caused them the odd problem

So it must have lied a fortnight ago when we were out of the relegation zone then, right?

I’d like one post TV match thread where the old, “internet troll or moron” conundrum does rear its head.

Royal91 Last nights performance gives me confidence going into Saturday.

Thought we shifted the ball very well at times and against a lesser team with no Vidic it could have been a different result.

I'm normally first to rip into Hunt but he gave an excellent battling performance. Feds yes made a great double save but he needs to stop with all this camera save bollocks!

.

Whilst all keepers will tend to rib each other about camera saves, I doubt (m)any would seriously accuse Feds of being guilty of those last night. He took the right approach in every instance and often that meant getting strong hands on the ball to push/deflect away rather than risk attempting a clean take. Master class in goalkeeping last night IMO.

Our "reserve" side isn't quite as good as their "reserve" side. Next month our 1st team won't be as good as their 1st team so no surprises there then really....

BR2 Shorey showing yet again that he is our best left-back.

He's better than Harte, I'll grant you that, but he was at fault last night.

Let's the United player ran at him, no closing down at all, they put a ball into the box and score.

In the second half he had both Nani and Valencia running at him with very little help from Jobi.
Did you watch the whole of the game or are you going by highlights?
Incidentally Shorey won a number of headers against Valencia and it was good to see him attacking the ball.
Imagine what carnage Valencia and Nani might have caused if Harte had been playing.
I hope Shorey plays on Saturday.

I don't rate either of them, a new left back is a massive priority in the summer.

Shorey went very strongly into those headers too. They were some of the rare occasions when we heard any noise from the incredibly silent ManU fans, as they moaned about Shorey flattening their man and not getting penalised.

On a different subject, I am really surprised by the claims that we were poor at keeping the ball. After we weathered the initial ManU storm, we had a long spell of good passsing and possession, which even drew acknowledgement and praise from both commentators. What's more, over the course of the game, I reckon the ManU players produced some of the worst careless passing. I can recall several occasions when, under very little pressure, one of their players neatly passed the ball out of play for a throw in to us!
