The Informant As someone who goes and watches Reading home and away week in week out i get quite insulted when i log into the back from the game thread the next day only to find the same old charachters clogging up yhe thread with their inane rubbish, over analysing everything having watched 5 mins of highlights on player.

Then i log into this thread to see the same people or person saying we shouldnt go up this season and next season is better. You cant choose when you go up, you just take your opportunity and make the most of it when you do.

Some people actually support the club and we deserve success even though some of our performances have been dull.

It'll be the 5 minute highlight jokeys scrambling for Wembley tickets if we get there if only to don their brand new jesters hat.

Through thick and thin.

I do agree with what you say and to add to it, Wigan one season got into the play-offs the next they were relegated.

Our last two shitty seasons were preceded by missing out on the play-offs by a point.

You can't just bank on having another good season.

Nobody was suggesting we should plan to not go up this season. The question was would we be in a better position to survive the premier league after another year of building and adapting to the system.

Norwich draw, 9 points clear of them in 7th. 10 points to Derby who have game in hand.

Which is very nice. I am working on the assumption that Derby win their game in hand, so looking at it as a 7 point gap at the moment - anything else is a bonus.

was quite suprised looking at the recent form, but Derby's is actually quite poor in their last 6. Obviously they've had a couple of tough games in there though

Newcastle's next fixtures look pretty tough to me? They will visit Brighton and then Huddersfield and then Reading in 8 days.

I mean of course they have the depth to win them all but I'm starting to think about what we happened to Southampton and West Ham when we last went up. Imagine if they come to the Madejski after successive defeats...

Wolves A
Norwich A
ASTON VILLA H
BRISTOL C H
Brighton A
Huddersfield A
Reading A
FULHAM H

Hopefully we can take maximum points from our next two home games and be the team poised to take advantage if Newcastle or Brighton crumble.

2nd, 4th and 3rd all away in a row. That'll be a tough set for the Geordies.

It's a pretty transparent (and doomed to failure) effort to get to me. As are many of his posts, about half of which seem to get deleted by mods (without any request from me).

'Not one for the showboat reel. Derby sub Matek Vydra tries to 'do a Giroud' when Cyrus Christie swings in a cross from the right. There's not much bite in his scorpion kick though, completely missing the ball. He does, however, manage to whack Yohan Benalouane in the head. '

Not so sure that's true, their form is pretty ropey when they don't have their first choice 11 on the pitch.
