I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest 16 losses from 23 away games is what has done us.

Not that it makes much odds, anyone know why Rotherham v Cardiff is being played on a Thursday instead of Tuesday or Wednesday as it means Cardiff v Huddersfield has to be put back to the Sunday when really all sides at this stage should be kicking off at the same time wherever possible. Just seems to be something that the FL definitely should not have sanctioned.

And the biggest annoyance of that is the penalty not given at Burnley that the ref subsequently apologised to Ince for!

Our away record over the past couple of seasons has been shocking: played 45; won 9; drawn 6; lost 30. Our home record this season is borderline play-off level, but our away record is easily the worst in the division. This is what's cost us.

Sadly, I accepted this a few weeks ago. It’s been years in the making tbh. I shall go to the last 2 games and I shall renew my season ticket for next season. I’m not expecting it to be easy in League One but I am looking forward to seeing us hopefully rebuild the team and start winning games again. The last 10 years apart from some odd games has been utter dog shite and a complete reset is needed.

No what's done us is how badly Dai Yongge has run the club

Sky Sports.

Cardiff v Huddersfield would be Sunday regardless as it's also a tv game.

Millsy Screw this. Dai is totally at fault for everything. Spending shitloads but never bringing in a proper manager to make most of the players. Never having a proper manager lined up when sacking one, just taking a punt with nobodies. Just f**k it all. Totally deserve to go down.

Screw football, I'll probably take a break for a couple of years.

An up and down ride since the 1995 playoff final but it's just been shite after shite in the last decade or so.

Agree with this. It's a long road back from here. Anyone who thinks we'll piss league one is deluded. We have an owner who has no clue. Last time we dropped there 25 years ago it took us 4 years and we had Madejski then!

Good old telly!

Least we won’t have to worry about that next season.

The results really couldn't have been worse and if Gyokeres had been in form the goal difference that we still have over QPR (could still matter) might have disappeared-6 or 7 clear cut chances, the like of which he has been taking all season.

Now Wigan, who we thought would be down by next Saturday, have something to play for.
Mega game for us next week.

Just this. Wasting all that money yet appointing utterly useless nomarks to lead the club. Least that now seems to be under control. Hoping for a managerial appointment in the summer of someone who knows the lower leagues but is hungry with ambition.

I just want the back of Dai now. Understand the desperation of some for him to stay but, I’d take 5 years in L1 if it meant us getting a new competent owner and we get our club back

What constitutes ‘getting our club back’?

We’re going down. It happens in football. Nothing dramatic, we’re just playing div1 football next season

Best just to accept it and enjoy it. It can’t be much worse than the last few years tbh

I would not rule out relegation next season. At the very best lower half you can’t just build a promotion challenging team over a couple of months. It will really hit home when the fixtures come out.

Well, for a period of about a decade up to about 10 - 12 years ago we were an example of how to run a club well and reasonably sustainably. That's probably what I'd be aiming for.

Succession planning
Intelligent signings of players with potential on the up
Use of youth
Mixed with some experienced pros not on their way to the knackers yard.
Living within our means.
Producing players people want so we can get some good seasons out of them and then sell to supplement our income.

I don't know, next year is an important season for Bowen I'd say. It's obviously not solely him, the owner ultimately makes the decisions, but a lot of pressure will come on those behind the scenes if we don't do well next season as well.

I've said it for a while though now, we need a new owner, it doesn't matter who we have in place below him, we need a better owner who has an understanding of football. I don't really care if they put in less money than Dai, as long as it's enough to get us back to the Championship and keep us there, assuming we still go down.
