As Tim suggested on BBCRB I’d ask Morrison to step up and be the manager with hopefully some support from an associate within the game. If we can’t sack Pauno due to FFP something like this is our only option tbh. Otherwise, we’re as good as relegated as Derby will catch us and pull off the great escape.

We don't actually pay the management that much. Pauno I heard was on 360k a year when he signed his 2 year deal. No idea what his other coaches get but wont be that high. We were under FFP restrictions and embargoes when he joined so we won't be paying a reckless salary.

It wont cost much to get rid. It would be his replacement who would demand more money. It's the owner who's being too patient or stubborn to sack the manager (who knows what he thinks).

The money in football is obscene now. Base salaries should be lower and bonuses paid based on performance. Minutes spent on the pitch.

Confession.

I type Reading FC into Google search several times a day just hoping to see news of a new manager.

Thoroughly disappointed every time I see some shitty article come up instead about the latest defeat or possible transfer activity.

Anyone else as sad as I am? Go on, admit it.

No , the business plan agreed with the EFL has restricted the clubs options.

Wrexham sat nicely in the playoffs of the National league are currently managed by local Reading hero Phil Parkinson. He would jump at the chance to take on the role to steer Reading clear of the drop zone. Parkinson is employed on a rolling contract so no compensation payment is required.
Parky and Mad Dog would get those players going, a big kick up the arse is needed.

Restricted but not nullified. there ARE options out their rather than just heading down the road to nowhere.

karbota It has got to be Parkys chance now, ably assisted by Mad Dog Allen if he could be tempted away from Eastleigh?

Impressive CV.

Parky has had three huge signings at Wrexham and they haven’t improved on last season. He is barely cutting it in non league these days. No thanks.

Never understand the obsession with him. The suggestion itself is the last thing we need. Bugger all track record at this level. No different from appointing the last few unknown flops we have had. We need experience at this level and track record. Parkinson has nothing.

This. His contract is already budgeted for this season so when we pay it up matters not.

New guy could be offered a small-ish wage with a delayed bonus if successful. Not buying in to the Warnock plan but imagine he'd happily take a small wage with a nice retirement bonus paid over a couple of years.

I’d like a nasty bastard in charge maybe joey Barton. Then in the summer if we stay up don’t renew any player contracts and replace them all with all of the hard bastards in the lower leagues. scour the red card tables. Build an 11 of 6 ft 4 thugs. Play log ball rough em up football.
