Happy Birthday John!

The Reading chairman is 71 today and in the next few days will hand over ownership of his club to Anton Zingarevich.

Ian Royal
Chaney 3 months and counting from the initial announcement, you have to say now that every day that passes the more unlikely the buy out will go through.
all we hear is the deal SHOULD be completed soon, but nothing ever happens, lets enjoy our one season in the premier league with SJM in charge, because thats all it will be without additional investment.

This thread has brought out loads of new WUMs and manic depressives.

Which category is Chaney?

Anton was in attendance at Birmingham today and was all smiles. It's always frustrating waiting for something, but it will be done soon I'm sure. I'd really only be worried if Anton wasn't around suddenly, and he hasn't missed a game for some time. He'll also be at the stadium tomorrow for the trophy presentation - and you never know, the showman may have an announcement of his own tomorrow. I wouldn't put it past him.

Tomorrow. You just know it too. JM the showman - handing over the keys with one hand and holding aloft the trophy in the other.

This will not surprise me in the slightest if it happens.

Got to shake Antons hand before the game - he travelled up with SJM, Samuelson and the rest of the board by coach, they were getting off just as we walked into the ground.....seemed happy enough....

Friday's Legacy Bloody hell, Jonny. State the bleeding obvious.

That's as close to breaking news as we get with him.

I know he's a bit of a numpty, but I'm getting the impression you're a little bitter at him blocking you on twitter, or perhaps having the job you'd quite like yourself.

No no, far from it. I just cannot respect someone that puts so little effort into his work. Reading FC hand him 90% of his work, and the other 10% is clear as day taken from this forum. As for blocking me, he's blocked a number of people recently for merely questioning him and his sources. Blocking only stops you replying to him in any case.

To be fair to him....where else is he going to get it from? You'd be equally as annoyed if he just copied some rumour made up by a bloke from the Barnsley Express :|
It's not like RFC are going to tell him anything...

In fairness he looked a little shy and embarrassed when the hordes descended.....get the impression he's not used to much attention....

I inadvertently hit him with a beach ball as he was walking past - I hope his bodyguard didn't see who threw it.

RL needs someone to scope out her home/workplace and food test for her. I can get you a mirror and torch for the car. Tread carefully my dear. They are already watching you.

I'd just like to say I've never actually DISSED Anton or anyone - I mean, I think he's great, I was just being cautious about the takeover etc - many thanks to our Russian friends for their money which has helped clinch us promotion, as champions, to the Premier League. Etc etc.

The club are very confident TSI deal will be completed next week. Just waiting on PL now. SJM very happy, if a little emotional it's almost done.

The 5 Year Plan by Anton Zingarevich

by tomrfcurz » 29 Apr 2012 20:20

For those who missed this and who haven't seen / read the full version. Anton has described he has a 'five year plan' which will result in Reading being a top 10 Premier League side and challenging for Europa League qualification and also the plan also ends in the full expansion of the stadium to what was described as "about 40,000 seats".

Seems fantastic to see the new owner come in with high ambitions. Does beg the question, how does Madejski feel about this encourage him on by still adopting 'the Reading way' there's no chance we can keep our wage cap the same etc and manage this. Just hope Zingarevich isn't anything like that Briatore c*nt at QPR with his now infamous four year plan bollocks. That was basically a plan of chop and change until it goes right, if that ent happened after 4 years then bugger off.

Zingarevich has really done himself a #worldy PR campaign today. So many fans already in love with him and the blokes ready to fall in love with his mrs. Fantastic to see him and Madejski walk out with the trophy like that - special moment. Lets hope in 5 years time we have some even more recognisable silverware (ambitious much?). Lets have the FA Cup and Carling Cup! Roll in the thoughts on Anton's 5 year plan

So......did everyone enjoy the announcement on the pitch today? :?

I'm getting a bit worried now. No self respecting billionaire wears a dodgy jester hat unless more embarrassing times are ahead. Such as not being ratified as a fit and proper football chairman for a premier league club.
