People saying 451 is too defensive are talking rubbish. The formation and your attacking threat depends entirely on how you play it, along with the personnel. If you play it with THREE holding midfielders then yes, it is too defensive. If you play it as we did against Sunderland at home, then no it's not. McD has to take responsibility for picking such a defensive XI but the formation was the right one.

Agreed, Swansea played 4-5-1 in the cup final last week , in fact it was 4-2-3-1 while ours turned out to be 4-3-2-1. too cautious but NOTHING surprises me about BMs selections and tactics nowadays

it's this sort of shit, from people like you, who've been bitching seemingly from almost the start of the season that fucks me off. Do you plan to support the team at some point this season?

Is Akpan really being played as a holding midfielder?

From what he's shown to date I'd suggest he plays a more attacking role than the other two...?

Calm down dear.

I support the team every week. The team are mostly doing the best they can, they are just being hamstrung by Brian's weakness and the ridiculous "on the cheap" approach of the club.

Box to box in my book, with a good pass.

A midfield of Leig, Guthrie and Akpan would be well balanced for keeping the ball and doing something with it in my opinion.

Has looked excellent, but his shooting's been a bit wild. Lot's of power but with no direction. Perhaps that's why he's playing a little deeper.

Dear God

I wish mongtards like Leon would realise there is a difference between being pessimistic and supporting the team. Some on here simply can't see the wood from the trees and given how woeful we've been this season it, it comes a s little surprise some are frustrated by our fortunes this season. Without question sometimes the message could be articulated a little better, after all being a fan can cause us all to be a little emotional, but it is is opinion and thinking objectively, BM could have got away with such tactics in the Chump, unfortunately now, it's a very different story.

He didn't last year, so why do it now when things are actually a bit rubbish.

I travelled 160 miles to support the team for every home game last season, and even further for some of the away matches.

How many games did you make Ian? I'm sure your radio appreciated the support.

touch a nerve? You were unremittingly negative on here which is what you'll get judged on on here funnily enough.

If pointing out that we didn't have enough quality and were frequently riding our luck can be construed as "unremittingly negative" then I guess I was. Unfortunately this season I have been unremittingly correct.
