Hound
Stranded Quick look at the transfers happened to date and only ourselves, Wigan, Wycombe and Carlisle have yet to bring in a new player. The other 3 do also currently have more than 8 senior players on the books.

How are we defining a senior player? Is Azeez one? Jahmari? Keep seeing this 8 player thing thrown about.

Gone by Transfermarkt - https://www.transfermarkt.de/fc-reading ... erein/1032

Which lists the following in our first team squad that haven't yet left:

Bouzanis
Yiadom
Holmes
McIntyre
Ince
Carroll
Azeez
Hutchinson
Guinness-Walker

So 9 though I've not counted Ince given he is reportedly in talks elsewhere.

They also list Clarke, Abrefa and Camara in the first team squad - which is where the grey area may be.

Starting line up could be

.................Bouzanis
Abrefa, Yiadom, Holmes, NGW
................Senga, Craig
........Azeez, Ejaria, Camara
....................Carroll

It's not looking great is it.

No it’s not good at all but it’s not quite as bad a situation as some would believe

McIntyre no more than a rumour atm so he’s in. Hutchinson if he’s ever fit again.

Then Ehibhatiomhan, Clarke have some experience and should do ok at that level, esp Ehib. John Clarke, Abbey, Carson, maybe Holzman could do a job

Not heard that Mbengue or Dorsett haven’t signed so they could be there as well.

There’s big gaps but there’s also a first 11 there that would be respectable imo

Midfield remains a gaping wound

Small clip of first day of training released on Twitter - be interesting* if we can ID most in the clip.

Carroll there but didn't appear to be training - so sign of Ince (no surprise) or Yiadom. Hutchinson fit to train.

Yeah struggling with that. Can see Abbey, Ehib, Craig, NGW, Abrefa, Hutchinson, Bouzanis, Holmes, McIntyre, Carroll, Azeez I think. Senga maybe

Can’t see Ejaria, Yiadom

It’s a comically small group certainly

Someone has already worked out who was there for training:

Bouzanis
Andresson
Holmes
McIntyre
Dorsett
Abbey
NGW
Abrefa
Senga
Craig
Hutchinson
Camara
Azeez
Carroll (but appears not to have trained)
Ehibhatiomhan

Ejaria, Ince and Yiadom do not appear to have been present or were not caught on camera.

Above would also suggest Dorsett has resigned and will likely be in contention this season (depending on future signings).

Someone on Twitter, who usually is fairly reliable said that Mbengue was there yesterday. Though he also said Hoilett was but he's at the Gold Cup, so go figure...

We'll be playing Kingsley once the usual 9 injuries have stacked up.

Some regular on Twitter suggested both Hoilett and Mbengue were at the club yesterday

I wasn’t keen on Hoilett staying but with the change in circumstances I’d happily have him stay on now

Hoilett is in Canada on Gold Cup duty so no way he was there yesterday. He was there over the summer though.

I wonder if Ejaria can light up League One or if he’ll be as useless as ever. I am guessing that he must be our highest paid player now.

I am prepared to give him a chance this season but he needs to bring his A game. Not sure if the club will try to cash in while he still has a year left on his contract.
