one of the 106 team and a good one at that so a bit of a hero as far as I am concerned.

Would liked to have seen him taking up a coaching role at RFC but clearly he has his priorities with family etc.

So does this make Frederici our longest serving member of the first team squad?

It's a sad day, great servant to the club who will always be remembered fondly here and the last of the old guard to leave.

maffff Surely he must be in the territory to be considered for a testimonial?

v KR Reykjavík perhaps.

IN for this!!

Anyone who shrugs or is otherwise dismissive at this news just doesn't understand football or what it is to support a football team.

Maguire About time.

Way past time he left the playing squad, but sad to see he's not stayed as a coach. Although perhaps we've seen demonstrated that he wasn't good enough as our behind the scenes work seems to have been rather weak this season.

Good luck Brynjar. Massive legend considering you never really held down a regular first team starting place or played that many games for us.

He was a good pro. Met him a couple of times and he was always humble, polite and genuinely nice. He could of shown the likes of Lita how should conduct themselves off the pitch.

Good luck to what ever you do and hope to see you come back sometime soon, whether as staff or to watch a game

Divvy
Pepe the Horseman
Divvy In a midfield as bad as ours, it was crying our for a calm head like Bryn's. Instead we sign an unfit Caricco.

Bryn would still be better than Leigertwood too.

His treatment over the last 2 seasons has been pretty disappointing for me. He can't do a full 90 minutes, sure, but a 60 yes!

Lol. He wasn't the answer five years ago when we got relegated from the Prem, so he sure as hell wasn't the answer this time round.

That wasn't my point. My point being the midfield is so full of utter shite that he would have been a better bet tha Caricco and Leigertwood. A much better passer of the ball. A calm head. Just what we've been missing, even just for 60 minutes. It just highlights how bad we really are when, and no disprespect to Bryn, we could have used him!

He wasn't good enough to play midfield in the Championship two years ago. Leigertwood was much better. So I have no idea what makes you think he's improved with virtually no games over the last two years to be a better option at this level than him.

Would have been nice to give him a send off as it doesn't sound like we're going to get one. What do I know...perhaps he'll come on before the Villa game?

Great servent to the club. Heck, I may put Brynjar up as me middle name on facebook again!

Icelandic season runs April to September (I think) so they might not even be doing pre-season yet so perhaps could leave next week and come to Villa game. Simod cup team at half time after having Bryn before the game, could be a day of nostalgia to numb the pain.

So long, Bryn. You were never a regular in the side, but you always did a good job when you played, and you gave us many a great memory. I'm disappointed though that the club didn't manage to tie him down to a coaching role here. Perhaps they tried and he wanted to go home to coach, or they didn't try at all. Either way it's an shame to lose a gent with his experience. A future Reading manager, maybe.

Bit part player - yes, but played a big bit in virtually every outfield position when called upon at short notice.

Model pro, cheers Bryn!

where we kept him on past his sell by date, on good pay, and helped him through his coaching licences?
lol.

anyway- farewell sweet prince. you will always have a place in my heart.
my favourite reading player of the past 10 years.

for the nutmeg and cross, for that great header, for the penalty won vs liverpool, for slotting in anywhere on the pitch and putting in mostly hugely impressive displays.
LEGEND. GOD

i will miss you terribly
