genome Our form actually improved under BM, then tailed off once we had nothing to play for.

No it got worse. PPG proves it. BM actually took Reading down the table and ended up with a minus goal difference when it was positive before.

If you look at rolling ppg, it got better, then fell apart once safe. You can't judge trends by taking the final figure and comparing it to the previous final figure. Hth

No to NB returning. He's Derby's problem now, and their fans aren't happy about it

Turns out we sold him at the right time and got a good price, wouldn't want him back.

This is more evidence that the club is being bled dry though because whenever we make a £1m+ sale, its like it never even happened.

You can, but you'd have to be a head injury patient to realise that a team's form will collapse when they've (a) been knocked out of the cup at the interesting stage and (b) are safe from relegation.

Blackman?

BLOLackman.

Kes has been trying really hard of late to say something inflammatory/interesting. Unfortunately he's really scraping the barrel here and has resorted back to his standard "Yeah but Steve Clarke, ex Chelsea rent boy, is much better than Brian" line, despite every Reading fan, you know the people who actually go to the games, disagreeing. It's fascinating really.

That's where you're wrong. There's quite a lot, 'you know' that do go to games and agree things have got worse under BM.

You can't one minute say it was right to sell Blackman, then on the other hand say "Well BM lost his two top goalscorers".

Which is it? So much c u n t r a d i c k t i o n from you lot.

I can. I can say them both in the same minute even.
BM did lose his best two goalscorers. That much is fact. theyd scored more goals than anyone else at the club.
It was also right to sell blackman because he wanted to and was out of contract and because it was a daftly good offer, and because deep down we knew we didn't really like him, and he was patchy, at best.

Once again Kes fails to see football as anything other than black and white.

But you're contradicting yourself again. You're saying it's good business. I was pointing out that maybe it isn't when you factor in various things.

£500k transfer fee for Kermorgant
Dwindling crowds
Team performing worse (12th when he left - finished 17th was it>?)
The replacements wages

Not everything is black and white you know.

Perhaps if I dumb it down for you Kes, and say BM effectively lost his top scorer the moment he stopped scoring.

However instead of him using up a place in the team not scoring, we got 4 million for him.

Brian lost his top goal scorer. It was the right thing to sell him.

Make sense?

Lol, the point is Clarke had the benefit of an in-form Blackman, which significantly upped his PPG, which Brian didn't have the luxury of. His form dwindled (also during Clarke's tenure) so he was sold to Derby, who generally agree we mugged them off and it was good business for us.

You're right there, as soon as he joined Derby he started banging them in!

£4 million for a player out of contract in the summer, with 2 goals in his last 30 appearances.

If you can't see that as good business then I'm glad you're nowhere near a football club!

Do you think Liverpool regret selling Torres for £50million to you mugs?

Which makes it all the more embarrassing that you're still struggling to grasp how selling Blackman was a positive for the club.
