im not too bothered about breaking the record
promotion is most important whether we scrape through the play offs or win the division by a mile i will still be happy

a lot depends on what happens in january

at this rate i can see us beating 100 goals but not get the 106 points

I just hope that if we do break our record it's with at least 108 points. Imagine what a big deal Reading 107 could make. In all seriousness it's far too early to judge. If we somehow retain our squad in January then I will start believing we can do it then.

Think we will score more goals, but we have lost two already, so can't see us going through the next 30 games without loss... Its bound to happen at some point, so we won't beat the point haul. We are going to go though a tough patch at some point, but we are playing with fire in our bellys, so maybe we will still be getting results during that time!

How many games did we go unbeaten in 05/06?

Also, Arsenal went a whole season unbeaten not too long ago. The next year (or the year after), Chelsea won the league with a record number of points. They didn't go undefeated for the season. The number of draws is just as important as number of losses.

I guess if we're getting close with a few games to play there'll be more incentive to beat our own record than when we were trying to get to the prem for the first time and maybe break the previous record.

Thinking about this last night, personally:

100+ points and 100+ goals > 107 points

Although 107+ points with 100+ goals is obviously the target

early days but the signs are looking good ...

in my view we have a better "team" ... although some players are not as good (sum of the parts and all that)

we do seem to have clicked at the moment and do look a bit above the rest ... its not like we have played the dross and given them a good hiding

i always believe goal difference is a massive indicator which sits behind the points tally ... comfortably there, just there, there with a bit of luck

our gd would indicate we are very comfortably there, interestingly our gd is greater than the goals scored for any other club bar wolves

my prediction ... champions with 109 points, 109 goals scored

Imagine we did break the record & finished on 108 points, only for Birmingham to get 110!!!! OK, very very unlikely but how gutted would we all be?

Hunt, Hunt, Doyle and Bikey leave in Jan, We don't win again. League 1 beckons......

With a bit of luck money will be so tight come January that very little dealing is done. The top four clubs owe billions, West Ham could be in big trouble with Mr Iceland not being as wealthy as he was.Unemployment will soon rocket, people will not have money to spend on football matches,Skysports. etc Football will find itself between a rock and a hard place. I know a lot of clubs are owned by very very rich men, but personal fortunes have been lost before and a recession like this one has not been seen for 70-80 years. With the exception of Chelsea and Man City all the backers of the so called big clubs could be in the mire and be looking to realise money fast.

With luck we could hold onto all four players .

hence why i mentioned them saying it just before we broke it, and not just after they set it!

if you are going to pedant, do it properly!

Anyone who thinks we will break our records has been seriously brainwashed by the success this club has had recently.

loyalroyal4life Not a chance of 107

Given that I've mathematically proved there is, you are nothing but wrong in this instance.

In which case Birmingham would be breaking the record, not us ;)
