If we want to beat Ipswich on Saturday then the team for that game simply has got to be:

GK: Hahnemann
RB: Rosenior (Although I'd prefer Murty if he's fit)
LB: Armstrong
CB: Bikey
CB: Duberry
RW: Little
CM: Harper
CM: Matejovsky
LW: Hunt
CF: Doyle
CF: Long

SUB: Kitson
SUB: Hunt
SUB: Cisse
SUB: Tabb
SUB: Federici

This team would beat Ipswich. But the team Coppell will select for that game will be: Federici, Rosey, Stretch, Doobs, Pearcey, Little, Cisse, Harps, Hunt, Doyle and Long....

Coppell will blame Matejovsky for our poor showings.

Alan Partridge
Top Flight Personally I think its Pearce that should make way for Bikey.

Here's a novel thought

Why not drop Rosenior

and play 3 at the back (Bikey, Doobs, Pearce)

Stretch wide left, bye Hunt, Little on the right with 3 in the middle, Marek Cisse and AN other with then the 2 up front.

I like that line-up, sounds good.

But Coppell will never change from the standard 4-4-2.

At this stage of the season, your suggestion is very risky considering we really need to win most of our last 10 games.

Snowball
Alan Partridge So the stats show that Duberry can't be that bad then? And next to Ivar is the best, now is Ivar known for his pace?

Theories please...!

My kid wonders if consciously or unconsciously, Doobs is covering for Pearce
and it's affecting his own game." ?

Or maybe he's just lost a bit of form?

I'm inclined to agree with your kids line of thinking.

I think Pearce is a very good Championship defender. But he has alot of learning still to do. There is so much of his game that needs to improve.

When we have just 10 games to go, and we are so close to an immediate return to the Prem and when we have an outstanding Cameroon International defender just sitting around on the bench, I don't think this is a time to nurture young talent.

We have to play our best two Centre Backs that are currently available and thats Bikey and Doobs.

You did SEE that Little had absolutely zero ability to run? Their left side would slaughter us

Pearce or Dubes need to make way dont care which

Pearce was turned like an absolute mug for the freekick, dubes jumped 1 inch in the air to defend it

Agreed, Bikey should have been put in for Doobs as soon as he was match fit. I love Doobs as cover but with his age and slowness it is a big risk to have him start all games especially when we have two games in one week.

I want to see Doobs playing regularly (in the reserves) and Bikey to be back in the starting lineup.

Why does Doobs keep letting forwards get behind him and score. The donkey known as Adebola scored for Bristol City at the far post and again yesterday from the free kick Doobs was beaten. He seems ok if attackng the ball head on but get it over his head and he has a problem. Bikey looked very strong on the ball and dealing with physical challenges before he was harshly sent off against Cardiff so I think he should be brought back in Doobs place. As mentioned earlier rosenior was desperately poor last night.

Turns8 I agree...i think we stand a better chance being down to 10men when he gets sent off after 20mins...and then banned for 3 games....

Bikey IN...

Oh and can't wait to see him elegantly bring the ball out of defence dribbling it around the striker on the bobbly pitch only to lose it and allow them in on goal...but hey...he's the best player in the world so we aren't allowed to say anything negative about him are we!!!

Whats with the rolling eyes about Bikey's disciplinary record.
He has cleaned up his act since the red mists of his first few months at he club.
I dont call one sending off in the past two seasons a big issue. If it is then Kitson, Matejovsky, Gunnarsson et all might as well not be picked.

Turns8
Sarah Star
John Peel Yes, what the f*ck WAS Rosenoir playing at? Receive ball, hoof down wing, receive ball, hoof down wing...

Saw Little have a word with him at one point asking him to play the ball along the ground. Must be so demoralising for a passing player to see the ball hoofed over your head.

How did you know what he was saying?

Play the ball on the ground...oh i see...you mean the bobbly ground...hang on i know we all think Little is the white Pele, but even the best player in the world would have trouble controlling the ball on that surface

Charlton managed it ok.......still they do have the best players in the world

Bikey at his best is the best defender we have.

Unfortunately Bikey at his worst is a bigger liability than anyone and his last 3 games for us have been proof positive of that fact.

If we're gonna bring him back in we'd better be sure he's in the right state of mind to be focused on the job. You can print all the stats and make all the wild predictions about how well we would have done in recent games if he'd played but they don't tell you what his mental state is.

FWIW i think the fact we're starting to leak soft goals in recent games will make Coppell think that risk is worth taking but before that i can completely understand why he was reluctant to bring him in.

Alan Partridge must say LOLz at the Doobs bashers after last week there were threads praising his performances this season.

Must say I thought he had the poorest game i've seen him play in yonks, still wasn't the worst player on the pitch. Step forward Liam Rosenior. (if you can manage that without either falling over or just hoofing it aimlessly forward)

agree with you AP most people praising doobs last week are now slating him, i am happy to state I do not fall within this category!!

doobs is a donkey, has never been quality, he is a decent mid table championship defender however it is time to unleash stephan andre bikey

blakey struggles to play 60 mins let alone 90. With that formation he will be on the pitch for all of... 20 minutes!!

He'd certainly improve. He won't have the old-man-Doobs to help him out when he gets himself in a pickle - which, by the way, is not often.

Marek will stay in team - we are too predicable without him playing . I dont think Duberry will play, and I think Kebbe (if fit) will play instead of Hunt. We needed Kebbe the other night

But Coppell will never change from the standard 4-4-2.

That sums it up in a nutshell, if you can see that so can every scout and manager in the Championship...... in which case I would play Bikey or Kelly at right back. This would at least help us to get Little on the ball. These two and almost anyone else would be an improvement on Rosenoir.

100% 'greed, both goals were from poor marking at the back post. There is only one person resposible for covering that area and he had a shocker, again!!

It seems though only an injury to the donkey will lead to the entrance of BIKEY
