Hoop Blah He's a capable Championship defender and so it's a good move to tie him down on a new contract. He won't be on massive wages and is a low cost member of the squad, and one that's done ok so why wouldn't we keep him?
Pair him with a defender who compliments his qualities and he'll be fine. Put him without another similar defender, like an aging Ingimarsson and the partnership will struggle a bit. I'm not sure he and Mills are a suitable partnership either, but Pearce still has his value, even if it's as backup to Mills and AN Other next season.
