gonesy Doyle instead of Robin Friday LOL

LOL all you want. Unlike a lot of people on here, I'm not going to voice an opinion on a player I never saw. If you saw him play, then fine, put him in your XI, he deserves to be in there if reports are true despite the fact he never performed at the highest level.[/quote]
Well ask someone that has then, then you would realise what a great player he was,no offence to you but leaving Friday out is a touchy subject to us old fans.

Ginger_Blitz
ankeny So no room for Readings"forgotten"player, the great Kerry Dixon, should be in anybodies top eleven

No doubt he was class - Chlesea & England. He probably suffers from only playing for us in the 3rd tier whereas other strikers mentioned have succeeded for us at a higher level, (Friday was a special case.)

Top scorer in division 3 (not just for RFC) and for a relegated team. OK, 4 of them were in a vain attempt at Doncaster.

I understand that. Leaving parky out was a difficult decision for me but trying to think like a neutral would.

I didn't vote in the 2007 poll as it took the mods about a month to set me up as a user, so I was too late. If I had voted it would have been:

1. Steve Death
2. Graeme Murty
3. Nicky Shorey
4. Mick Gooding
5. Adie Williams
6. Dariusz W.
7. Glen Little
8. Simon Osborn
9. Robin Friday
10. Kerry Dixon
11. Tom Jenkins

I would like to have found room for Shaka, Mark White, Richie Bowman, Kevin Doyle and George Harris.

I haven't seen anything since 2007 to change my views.

Add Ivar and Kevin Bremner to my "would like to have found room" list and you have my 7 substitutes.

From the players I've seen at Reading since 1994 my XI would be:

GK - Shaka Hislop
RB - Greame Murty
LB - Nicky Shorey
CB - Adie Williams
CB - Dariusz Wdowczyk (I'm probably too young to really remember him but he was a better footballer than Ingimarsson and Sonko)
RM - Glenn Little
LM - Stephen Hunt (I pick him over Convey and Gilkes because he did it at the PL)
CM - Steve Sidwell
CM - Very hard decision but one from Osborn, Gooding and Harper (probably just Osborn)
ST - Kevin Doyle
ST - Dave Kitson

Honorary mentions: Hahnemann, Upson, Sonko, Ingimarsson, Scott Taylor, Convey, Gilkes, Gooding, Harper, Forster, Quinn
