Extended-Phenotype Stats only work towards backing up what you see with your eyes. If the stats contradict what you are seeing, then they are misleading. Players can have terrible games with little contribution but be the penultimate pass to the chap who uses all his talent to bury the ball. Oh look, the yuckbiscuit gets a frickin’ assist stat. Star player, huh?

Seem to remember watching England last summer and Lampard coming in the top 10 Actim stats of the tournament. The only thing I wished he was close to topping was himself.

Snowball:

So if you play the same opposition a year later with the same team, it will always be the same result, huh?

You are using year old stats to suggest we are a ‘better team without Gylfi’. In reality, there are more factors at play then whether one man is involved or not.

But I agree with the rest of your post – the league table really should be decided by me; I’m going to replace Won Drawn and Lost with Smiling, Hairdo’s, and Kit Accessorising.

Aw, hello and thanks Phil. How is Cornwall these days? My Ma and Pa are those criminal types who are reducing quant harbour villages to ghost towns by buying a ‘holiday cottage’ there. But of course my protests aren’t sincere as my honey and I get full use of it whenever we want; Doombar, ice cream and endless pirate themed fancy dress parties? Yes please.

I’ll have to work a bit harder with you ‘bcubed’; perhaps you have a more ‘Michael McIntyre’ sense of humour? I’m sure I can reduce myself to that given practice. ;)

Cornwall is great, thanks. On Sunday this is what we did - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-13924295. You would have loved it.

I do like a bit of the McIntyre as it happens but it was more a comment on how much we like someone with good grammar and spelling on this board

We're Reading, We're Reading, we'll correct your spelling! (maybe not!)
