http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Mills

"He joined Doncaster Rovers on a one month emergency loan deal on 19 October 2010,[5] making his debut the same day in a 3–2 defeat by Derby County.[6] This loan deal was then extended to 19 January 2011. Mills was injured in Doncaster's 3–0 defeat to Reading on 15 January 2011 and this may have been his last action for Doncaster. In July 2011, he joined Preston North End F.C. on trial."#

I'd like to think we paid them f-all.

LoyalRoyalFan We don't need a left back.

We don't? Explain...

Marcus Williams?

My god, he is utterly useless, even the scunthorpe stewards were laughing at us last season for signing him

I bet we've just taken on his existing contract from Southampton and positioned a season long loan as being a perm signing.

All our defensive problems are over!

Seriously one can only assume this means that Williams is off - otherwise I cannot see the point in signing a third choice left back or a fourth choice left winger. A bit if a strange signing all round really and I can only assume it is on a free or minimal transfer payment - as otherwise the contract would be longer than one year.

Still good luck to him and hope he turns out to be a great signing.

Skysports understands that Phil Neville is keen to see out his playing career at Reading

He's only 21, if he has an experienced pro in front of him getting into any team will be a problem.

He's here as cover due to Harte being old and Williams being shit.

Haven't seen what Fordham has said, but they've got Dan Harding and have recently signed Danny Fox, so he'd be third choice behind those two.

Makes you wonder whether we should've signed Harding ourselves when he was available on a free a few years back.

I don't know why we didn't tbh, he was solid.

Maybe he didn't want to stay, we fell apart that season and there were morale problems.

I think he must be the "work in progress" Brian hinted at.

I'm assuming this is the 'WIP' signing. Unless we're signing a 4 year old as well.

Royal Lady Really?? How much?

Undisclosed, I hope.

According to Madejski's own rule, nothing like as much as the media will make out. Given that, probably the square root of f all.
