Stranded Millwall apparently down to the bare bones due to injury and illness, so will have to see if that ends up being helpful or not.

Barebones probably still means half the injuries we had at the peak of our injury crisis.

Not sure but read somewhere that due to injury and illness they only had 7 first teamers available for one session during the week.

Shaun Hutchinson and Mason Bennett are both likely to miss the game but all I can find on the illness is that a number of their players are affected.

They’ve been threadbare for a while now. Makes it all the more surprising they let a few fringe players go in January, including our own Bodvarsson - even if he never got going there

and surprising they have knocked off 4 wins on the bounce - some tough games in there as well.

Shows just how important momentum is in the Championship really. Look at ourselves on the other end of the scale with our losing run, it becomes very difficult to break out of that habit. Even though we didn't win against Peterborough, we didn't lose and I don't doubt that had some significance on the mindset of the players going into Preston that weekend.

It will still be a tough game, but hopefully we will have the quality to get through the game if they are struggling injuries wise in their squad. How crucial it would be for us to take advantage to earn 3 points.

Scott Dann has signed a deal to stay with the club until summer 2023. So we have three centre backs in Dann, TMac and Moore under contract next season.

So 2 and half then.

Yeah he's a cracking CB. Pulling up trees at Stoke.

That’s more like it. I knew, deep deep down that there was a decent poster in there.....

Dann really hasn't impressed me. We desperately need a CB with even just a small amount of pace and he's one of our slowest. Don't really think a lot of that decision, he's far from bad. I just don't think he's a very good addition.

He has been average for us which isn't saying a lot but he would be my first choice cb at the moment.

Crowbar6753 I think we should be more positive at home and take the game to teams from the off. I would be a bit more aggressive and go with a 4-3-3 formation and stick with the 4-2-3-1 for away games.

Southwood
Yids Morrison Holmes McIntyre
Rinhomota Swift TDB (Rinhomota as a holding midfielder in front of the back four)
Meite Joao Hoilett

I’d probably go with this side although suspect Drinkwater and Ince will start. When I look at that side though I just worry about the opposition running through the middle of the pitch. Neither Joao or Swift do much defensive work and I can see the opposition managing to switch the ball from the middle of the pitch to the flanks far too easily.

I would certainly want Yaks in the side ahead of Ince.

The big unknown to everyone including Millwall, is what work has been done defensively this week especially with Colin Cooper coming in. We may see a very different defensive shape this weekend. Will be interesting to see.

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere? Sauce?

Agree he's looked average, but he's a good organiser and the time he was in the side Oct-Dec was the only time all season the defence has looked reasonably solid.

Agreed and from the moment he was injured v Fulham we have fallen apart defensively.

17 conceded in 12 may be an improvement, but its still pretty shite. And while 12 points in 12 is better than 1 in 8, it's still relegation form.

I may be a voice in the wilderness here. But for me it's Dann or Morro, and give me Morro every time. I'd have TommyMc in before him too.

Obviously our main problems are in defence , and I think that will remain the case until we improve the CB and GK situation . Our GKs have given away too many goals and our CBS have been poor . Morrison has not been performing to previous levels ( maybe never will ) , Holmes cannot hold his own at this level , never in the right place , poor on the ball . Tom Mac , rarely been at CB , due to injuries to himself or others . Dann , liked him at previous clubs , so still hoping .
While we have these problems in vital areas , it is going to be difficult .

Not sure why Ince is starting. Almost as if he's related to the manager.
