Hunt was miles offside in the build up

As for "the backs" this is football not egg chasing !

SteveRoyal Maybe we should try Harding and Tabb on the wings from the off? :?

Tabb on one wing and get Henry back from Milwall....at the moment both SHunt and Kebe warrant dropping.
I suppose we cannot get Henry back until his loan spell ends but he cant be any worse than what I saw today.

Correct re Henry. Ridiculously short-sighted from Coppell.

Now I didn't go as I'm a student up in Sheffield (yup dont really wanna go on tues night but puttin myself through the pain) but I believe the first team should be:

Marcus (I like Federici but Marcus is well up for the battle)

Rosenior
Pearce (Up comin player who when I've seen play, is a solid player)
Bikey (Why the hell is Doobs playing in front of him? Bikey is the best defender in this league by a mile)
Stretch

Kebe (the bit of magic we know he can produce will come alive)
Tabb (I'm just fed up of watching Shunt, the most overated royal ever to wear the shirt)
Marek (A bloody international midfielder, of course he has to play)
Karacan (he can sit in front of the defence whilst Marek goes forward, he's the future, not Gunnarson)

Doyle (has to end his drought soon)
N Hunt (a battler which is what we need)

Anyway I hope tues is a better game, so far ive been to 4 away games and we've won all of them and I havent seen us lose at home all season...maybe I'll be the gd luck charm ;)

Right back. Centre back. Centre back. Left back.

What do you want me to say "de-fense", "de-fense", as in the basketball chant?

It's not as if Millwall are bottom of League 2, Henry is performing in a side challenging for promotion to this very divison..ie a standard very similar to ours

Get him back ASAP

He is also playing very well for them from what I have heard. To let him go on loan does seem a bit daft.

Try back four, the defence or defenders for starters

Backs is a rugby term and has no place in football thanks

Can only think that S Hunt has a 'cannot-be-dropped-no-matter-what' clause in his new contract.

Has a new rule been introduced in the last month that Reading cannot be awarded a penalty. We should have had another two today. On the one hand, we're playing crap but we're also getting no breaks. Imagine if we'd had a penalty early on: We'd have won 5-0 as they would have had to come at us and couldn't waste time. It would have all been so different.

A few hours to cool down. The only highlight was my Godson laughing at me screaming at Kebe "You useless fckng retard". But anyway, my thoughts are, when a team isnt doing well its usually for 2 reasons.

1) There is a lack of committment from the team. As poor as we were, there was no lack of trying from all bar Kebe i would say.

2) The players are shit. Again, this isn't the case, we've seen them bang goals in for fun this season.

All i can say is that, in footballing terms, our team/caoches must have a combined IQ of about 6. An utterly brainless performance. It was as if they the players had had no tactical preparation whatsoever. Plan A isn't working...dddrrrrr.

Andre Bikey. No one can possibly come to the conclusion that Alex Pearce is a better Cb or offers more to the team. Both are young players and Bikey is miles ahead of Pearce in just about every department. I just dont get it.

Not if he had no intention of playing him because it would involve dropping one of his untouchables.

I thought Pearce was ok today. Would definitely bring in Bikey and cannot believe he is not even in the squad.
I would bring in Bikey to play alongside Pearce and not instead of him.

I actually think you're strictly wrong given that the term would have originated from the public school codification of the two sports. It would certainly have been used when teams still played 2-3-5 with two fullbacks, three half backs and five forwards (outside, inside and centre).

But ... yeah ...

I didnt think i needed to caveat that it has no place in football for the last 50 years, but yes pre-60's "backs' might have been used a little more but considering thats long gone its now as dead as inside forward as footballing term

unless your Jimmy Hill that is?

Quite probably you are, although to be honest I cant ever remember half backs and full backs being refered to as a collective "backs" in the same way forwards were

Thats in all the conversational and written references from those times that is, as unfortunately I dont go back quite that far myself

North Somerset Royal If SC could not see that one change that was crying out to be made was Tabb for Kebe than he must be an RTG too!

I must be an RTG then, 'cause I was screaming for Coppell to bring on Tabb for SHunt!!

Yeah he was running around more than Kebe but he was having even less impact on their defense

Is that pre or post 1960s punctuation (grammar) or just illiterate?
