Thaumagurist* Sounds like you have a grudge there, Mr Royal "My brain increases every time you insult me" Rother.

FWIW, I know Floyd as he's a friend of my brother. On here, he's very pessimistic, but I'd rather read his comments than the likes of Royalee, SDR and Royal Blue.

If I bore grudges I sure as hell wouldn't be talking to you now would I?

Is this a title of a sitcom?
Surely there's an old Ronnie Hazelhurst kicking around somewhere...

bobby m's syrup Floyd's football knowledge and reasonableness make him the one of, if not the most, consistent and accurate commentators on these boards. Personally, on this occasion, I am happy to see him proved wrong, but I was just as convinced that it would all be over by 7.15, as were, (I am sure), the vast majority of board users.

As I said before fair play to him for sticking his neck out but it looks foolish when it goes tits up - adding a level of grumpyness into his prognostications only makes it better (or worse, depending on which way you look at it).

He does rate Brum though. I don't particularly. They fell apart tonight and I would like to think they'll crumble under the pressure next Sunday. I'm sure Doyle and Kitson are relishing the thought of being marked by Jaidi!

And that's what sticking your neck out and predicting the outcome of a game can get you. Fair enough. I'm a big boy and I can take it. There's no point in dwelling on if's and buts. It didn't happen.

Floyd specifically said, regarding the Birmingham V Preston game that Birmingham would be promoted on the day they played Preston. He was also wrong. We didn't discuss what would happen after that. I don't see the issue.

You were wrong at the time. You're still wrong. They didn't get promoted on that day. They're promoted now, big deal. That's irrelevant.

I said all season that Birmingham would be promoted, I rated their squad at this level. You mocked this claim throughout the whole season.

Royal With Cheese That's irrelevant

Yep, Birmingham's promotion (as I forecast, remember) an absolute irrelevance. Let's put this all behind us now shall we RwC and look forward to Reading vs Burnley, the second leg of the play off irrelevance.

Look, the thread was specifically to do with your INCORRECT PREDICTION that BIRMINGHAM WOULD BEAT PRESTON AND WOULD GAIN PROMOTION ON THAT DAY. I don't mind/care you gloating about the fact that Birmingham actually got promoted but it's completely irrelevant. I took a snapshot of your grumpiness basically mocking any one's view that we had even the slightest of chances of having a say in the promotion race. I was pointing out that actually YOU WERE WRONG, we did have a say. The fact that we oxf*rd it up subsequently is irrelevant. I'm sorry if you don't understand that.

So if it's irrelevant, wtf is it still being discussed?

It's irrelevant because the whole thread is based on a statement by Floyde that there was no chance Brum would lose against Preston. They did lose, we beat Norwich and we therefore had a chance to get promoted on the last day of the season. Therefore Floyde was wrong.

The fact that we lost to Brum is irrelevant.

Yep, quite overlooking the fact that ultimately I was 100% spot on that Birmingham would be promoted, which presumably is irreLOLevant to this 'debate' too.

LOL @ YOU getting upset over a PREDICTION Floyde made, which wasn't right, but most of the things he does predict ARE right.
