Ultimately his job is to put the ball in the back of the net for us in the Championship. Thats his job.
I hope he does it with more regularity.
He has a great attitude. Really like him and hope he can step up for us.

Shame that there is too much fear in football.

I made a bet today with my mate that Church would score more goals come the end of the season than Rasiak.
I think I just won £10.

What position did we finish in? Did we avoid relegation?

According to the Sunday Times report on the Wales v Scotland game, Church plays for Leyton Orient.

Nah, it's impossible given they're on the same number at the moment and Church has looked fair to very good in all his performances, compared to Rasiak looking shit to ok.

Yeah, but it'll just take one excellent performance from him and all the sh** will be erased from everyone's minds. I know how these things work on here now.

He needs to score a couple of goals in a decent away win before he convinces me ....

Bit harsh to compare Church and Rasiak if you ask me. They are both here to do different jobs.

Rasiak is a target man and Church is the more mobile striker.

Target men will always score less than poachers, it's the target man's job to set up the other guy.

I'd like to see the two of them play more games together, hopefully they will get a prolonged run in the side and learn to work together. Lord knows we need the goals.

Fair to good in all his performances are you having a laugh?

Rasiak's looked shit to ok, yet you say they have the same goal tally, hows that happened? Oh yeah, Church fluked one against Ipswich to make it level.

Rasiak's goal record and proven pedigree in this division is enough for me to suggest he will score more than church throughout the season.

I don't think either are particularly good, the main reason Reading are 3rd bottom is due to their complete lack of a decent forward. But Rasiak will still score 10 league goals minimum.

Rasiak holds the ball up better, is better in the air and is a better finisher than Church and certainly hasn't been 'shit to ok' in every game. He's had several good games in fact and although Church will improve and shows promise, he is still the weaker of the two given his finishing needs a hell of a lot of work, which is a problem given strikers are there to score goals.

Church is better on the end of crosses. Shame he can't be paired with the legendary Les Chapel (Chapple). What a player he was!!

Come back to me at the end of the season and tell me who is better and has scored more goals.

I stick by my comments. I've seen plenty of both of their games and Church has been the more impressive as far as I'm concerned. They are the best or second best combination we could put out IMO and seem to be beginning to complement each other reasonably well.

Church is the future and playing him this season will pay dividends in the next one. Rasiak is a stop gap, nothing more.

We definitely need a new striker in to give us a decent option off the bench or replace one of them in the starting line up though. Which one is replaced is dependent on the nature of the incoming player though, not who has most goals or is playing best.

Although that is due to their respective ages rather than ability per se.

We could pair Church with Gary Lineker and one would still be 'the future' and the other a 'stop gap' !

As has been said, very different players and it's not a question of who is best, rather whether they can be an effective combination. If they get 30 goals between them I don't care what the split is !
