Forbury Lion Mike Ashley owns Coventry's stadium

Could he be here just to buy the Madejski Stadium?

It`ll make a bloody big house of Fraser to replace the one that`s closing in the oracle.

I doubt it. His representatives were shown around Bearwood as well by all accounts.

Given Ashley's history of making deals, if he seriously wants to buy Reading FC he very likely will do.

Thinking about Bearwood, Is it theoretically possible to have two teams train at the same location? Is it big enough?

Obviously not league rivals, but if Brentford need somewhere for a couple of seasons for their first team then maybe the money would be handy.

Are Brentford actually moving? Actually go past their training ground regularly and seems they’ve upgraded it a bit over the last few years

It doesn’t exactly scream prem legaue training ground mind you. Next to a muddy field of stinking cows

There are enough pitches but realistically not sure you'd want to share your facilities with another club and not sure another club would want to be tenants as the training ground would not be set up for their needs but the "home" clubs.

With a bit of reconfiguration of the Academy changing rooms and pitches, you could probably get two teams in, but realistically you'd be exiling both teams' academy teams to a different location. The main first team building at Bearwood could remain Reading's and Team X could use the Academy building and afore mentioned changing rooms and pitches.

QPR may have been a good option, but they're recently moved to a new training ground. Really only leaves Wycombe, Brentford, Swindon and Oxford as possible tenants.

Shit Billy Gibbons After signing a contract & exclusivity in Oct we entered a period of due diligence. Our accountants have reported. My investors & I have decided not to proceed. I wish the club & loyal fans the very best & hope they get an owner who will invest for long term success #readingfc

Unless it comes out otherwise, we have to assume the owner paid them.

In the circumstances I wouldn’t assume anything at all

This is quite good from the Bucks Free Press. Ashley lives in Burnham and regards the Thames Valley as 'very much his home.'

Earnshaw reporting that a few parties looking for exclusivity in the next week. I wonder how long this will take.

Let's say exclusivity and indicative price agreed by Friday. Then due diligence and EFL approval. Dai out by Christmas seems realistic.

In 2012 and 2017, EFL approval took ages. But if it was Ashley, a UK made billionaire with a history in the game, it would be quicker. Plus they will almost be as desperate as us to be shot of Dai.

If the bidder with exclusivity is known to the EFL i.e. someone like Ashley, then I imagine they would be prepared to pretty much wave it through so that they aren't the blocker here - they want this over nearly as much as we do.

If it is an overseas consortium, then they will likely be more cirumspect but also know that if they wait too long the entire existence of the club could be threatened.

I also assume that once someone has the exclusivity, there would be an expectation on them paying wages/tax as a sign of good faith.

Storey announcing that he and his consortium have decided to pull out

And has stated again that he had an exclusivity agreement, which is complete bullshit. I just don't understand the man or his games. But than thank fcuk he's not going to be our problem!
