2 world wars, 1 world cupwinchester_royal Discussion boards where there are no arguments are soooooooooo dull.
True.
We just have to try and remember that (except for obvious windup merchants) we're on the same side and so shouldn't ever get personal. Eg floyde is a good lad (mentioning him as an example only because this thread is based on him): disagrees respectfully or even argues but makes it clear it's not personal by praising at the same time for other threads. I try to do the same. There are no two identical fans on the site so sometimes we'll find allies with some people on some issues but then be bitter enemies on other issues with the same person. I tend to be fiercely argumentative about things I disagree with and I hit hard, but, it's never a personal thing it's always because the line of argument (rather than the person) p*sses me off. Many ppl I argue with I find I'm agreeing with and congratulating on other threads. As long as we realise this we can have a good mix of argumentative banter yet respect and solidarity at the same time. For come tomorrow night, no matter what our individual views on Coppell, Kebe, Hunt etc if we beat Burnley we'll all be going crazy celebrating with eachother.

floyd__streete Yep, quite overlooking the fact that ultimately I was 100% spot on that Birmingham would be promoted, which presumably is irreLOLevant to this 'debate' too.

Are you going to admit you were wrong about Birmingham? I called the result of one of their league matches incorrectly. I called their eventual top two finish correctly. Getting it right over 46 games > getting it wrong in one match.
To be fair, this thread is becoming like a more entertaining version of The Never Ending Story. We'll share a plastic tumbler of Chablis at Wembley, RwC, and debate it in more depth then

floyd__streete Suffering, as I tend to do, from more mood swings than the Montreux Jazz Festival I have now revised my prediction; in an alarming u-turn of which Mark McGhee would be proud of, I hereby announce my belief - nay presumption - that Reading FC will be promoted. A prediction, I somehow suspect, which will ultimately be as accurate as the one I served up yesterday.
